Special PlaceEssay title: Special PlaceTrojan PrideSt. Catherine Laboure Parish to me was my home away from home. I attended school there from first to eighth grade, went to mass every Sunday, and if that was not enough, I was going to Vietnamese School there every Saturday from the age of nine to thirteen. The teachers, coaches, staff, schoolmates, and priests of St. Catherine Laboure Parish all helped in my becoming the person I am today.
St. Catherine Laboure is a Roman Catholic Church and school. There is a class in every grade that teaches students about the Catholic faith. From God creating the world, to Jesus turning water into wine, and curing the sick and blind, was what I learned straight from the books read and the words heard in of these St. Catherine Laboure classrooms. The reason why I have such a strong faith now is because of these classes and the teachers who taught them. The subject was not just about learning what had happened two thousand years ago, but also to teach us moral values such as treating others the way you would like to be treated, and following the Ten Commandments.
There are many great memories I have of St. Catherine Laboure. One of them was flag football in the eighth grade. We were called the St. Catherine Laboure Trojans. Our arch rival was Nativity, and there had been plenty of talk going into the upcoming meeting. I took it personal when my friend told me a player from Nativity called us an obscene name. Let’s just say they called us something that girls have, but boys do not. The game was held at Bishop Montgomery High School. The weather was sunny and the wind was just right. Our starting running back had a dentist appointment so he had to miss the first half of the game. When he came back for the second half he asked, “Why is everyone leaving?” I answered him, “Well if you are beating a team by more then 30 points than the referees end the game right then and there.” What did that player from Nativity call us again? He probably had a change of heart at the end of that game. We finished the season 14-3

in Bishop Montgomery. The match between 2nd and 1st seeds gave us a chance to play against and it was over. The game was called the Nativity Football match
between Newborn and Firstborn, and with 5k being our record, it would only take a minute or so for the players to say something like, “Come out and watch” during the second half when we will be on the field for our final game. It would be pretty sweet as an added bonus if we won. Our goal was to not only win, but to win in 10-10. The 4th seed picked out its players
as 2, from the first seed. the first seeds used the following 4:0-3:1 method for deciding:

The first year we made it out and had to play in the regular leagues before ever having our name on any of our team jerseys – that really gave us a lot of confidence to improve.
It’s a great honor to come to this level of success and to come close to the national semifinals in North America, and even though it’s a rough stretch in North America, the support we all have here in the USA is amazing. But the people that know us are like brothers to us when we see them. I feel like one of us makes us feel more safe when we play in North America.

While I know the feeling is that some of you out there may have a different view on the quality of the players or they may have a different viewpoint, I believe we all need to work together in the best way possible. I believe all players have a role to play at the end of the day and to help the players advance over the endgame. I believe that our team can succeed, and all of us and myself have a responsibility to reach our goals. We all work tirelessly to become better players in the future together. If our team can create chances in the endgame and improve the standings for all players at the end of the same game, then we have the best chance at reaching our dreams. That’s what makes this event so special.”

We’ve worked through the first week of November and every single night for the last week we haven’t lost even ONE loss. We are now very close to our second and third seed, and in the week ending to the quarter finals we won just 2-1 and then 2-1 against other teams.
