The diversity in the United States is growing rapidly. Each day there are many being born of multi-races. In my opinion, it becomes more interesting each time I meet someone of a different race than myself. Everyone is different in the way they accept each other, but diversity in the US is not decreasing by any means. Whether people who are born in the U.S. or become U.S. citizens, they all deserve to be treated with respect and kindness, not ridiculed or mistreated. The different races, religions, ethnics, and cultures are not as important as remembering everyone is human and have feelings. I do at times think some individuals dont think about others or their feelings. And sadly to say, I dont think some people care. And that may be part of the problem when we speak of diversity.

I already knew that “whites” were the majority of the races in the US, and the history of “whites” and their accomplishments made me very proud. And at the same time disgraced by what many “whites” did in the past to people of color. Recalling how John F. Kennedy stood up for equal rights for everyone made me very proud of my race. But also recalling how the KKK, an all “white” supremacy group, displaced hate acts all races but whites and have hurt or even kill other races, especially blacks. I am so glad things and times have changed to be more accepting of all races. Some of the history of “whites” and their treatment of slaves and others make me ashamed of my race. But the history of the “whites” that fought for everyones equal rights, now those make me proud to be “white”. I guess we all have bad and good in the history of our race, I certainly do. We are what we are but your race should not prevent you from doing anything you want to do or become.

In my own opinion, I feel in 2050 the U.S. will have more multi-races here than any other race. My reasoning behind this is because of my view of the U.S. that I see today. Looking back 25 years ago, you did not see many mixed races, now 1 in every 10 children has more than one race in them. The numbers continue to go up in mixed race births as well as couples and marriages. Looking towards the future, I only see this number increasing as they are doing right now.

The challenges due to diversity in the U.S. are getting everyone involved and accepting to this fact. Diversity is happening whether a person likes it or not. As we know, some just cant accept change or do not want too! Many of the older generation have a problem accepting a “black man” as President of the U.S. Many also live in the past and only see what they were raised up to know too. But the benefits of diversity
