A Worn Path
Obstacles in Life
Along lifes journey, people will encounter many obstacles and hardships, but with hope and determination they can overcome them. This paper will illustrate obstacles I have faced along my journey, how they have changed my life and how Ive overcome them. Grasping on to hope, always staying positive, and never giving up helped me grow and overcome my obstacles.
I consider obstacles placed in my life as challenges and choices placed there to help me grow as a person. The obstacles, and how I decide to deal with them, help to mold and shape character, to then go on to help others with their problems. I have faced some harsh financial struggles in life. In 2010, I was laid off from my job on the Space Center and couldnt keep up with my mortgage and car payments. Luckily, at the time my wife and my daughter worked and paid the mortgage and other bills. But I stayed determined to find a job and because I didnt give up and now I work two jobs.
In 2010 I became a disabled veteran of the United State Army. I have problems with my knees and my back. When it rains my bones ache. I take medication that helps relieve my pain. I have not allowed my disabilities to stop me from reaching my destination. I have never depended on anyone nor wanted anyone to feel sorry for me. My family depends on me to take care of them and I plan on doing that. I wont give up. I will make them proud.
In 2012, I made my decision to go back to college and get a degree in psychology. At first I felt a little nervous because I appeared older then everyone in my class. What if I couldnt keep up with the younger students? Throughout my journey I stayed positive. I had to repeat a few classes because they challenged me. I held on to hope and never gave up and now I will be graduate with my A.A in December 2014.
Always staying positive, never giving up and holding on to hope, will help anyone overcome the many obstacles they will face in life. Ive always believe that if people think positive or speak positive into the universe then positive things will begin to happen in their lives. Making choices becomes a part of life. I choose
