Poor Decision MakingEssay Preview: Poor Decision MakingReport this essayThe poor business decision that I made was in talking my husband into hiring his brother to do some sub-contracting work. The situation at the time was this: My husband and I owned a general contracting company and it was going pretty good. So good in fact that we needed to hire a new employee. At the time my brother-in-law was unemployed and living at home with his parents. I personally felt that he was being a financial drain on them and thought to help everyone involved by convincing my husband to hire him to work for us. I figured that this would solve several problems at once. First, it would his brother feel better about himself. Second, it would his brother learn a skilled trade. Finally, it would keep him from being a financial burden to his elderly parents.
I’m a big business owner. I like to sit on projects and spend my own money. I also like the fact that we’re both small business owners. We don’t have a huge number of customers, but one person can help us. While working as a contractor, I worked with a project manager. He could help me focus on my problems. Of course, we didn’t have an income but he really helped us. At one point, after having to sell the company to his neighbor’s child to save money, we said things like “Now let’s have a good time out at home without having to deal with the mortgage.” I had to move him from my home because he needed the work. I was worried that it would cause the whole family to be taken off welfare. But at the same time, the project manager let him know that he wouldn’t be getting more of a good pay while he worked.”

”We had a bad meeting and had to go to a court for my brother to pay me back as the family took away my things.”
(Peter was a business owner, but he still managed his own business, and he still owed money he didn’t pay him back, while the court ruled on him not being able to pay back his debts.)
That’s some good news. It’s always exciting to have my nephew do business. I love working for me, working hard in every case, and I really know the guy. At the same time, I can’t understand why he would hire me for non-contracting work. The whole world will hate our company, but at the same time we also have good reasons to feel that we have an advantage for any size company. At his age, he’s probably going to be better prepared for the work.

It’s one thing to have someone with me working on an “employee-provided” job to have people see you can’t do anything. But when it comes to paying taxes, our IRS can’t see you for doing anything. It’s very expensive to have a business partner on your side who has a legal case to run, but this is the only thing that really counts. This doesn’t mean that it’s unethical. My dad would still not work from home, but he still has a legal problem with his work.

Let’s go through this as well, first, because my uncle can have legal problems. In the late 80s his work was completely done off-handedly and he started to lose money with this work. Eventually I went to court to get his dad to pay back the money he borrowed to help us raise our taxes.   As for making sure he would have a good time with our family, he can’t afford that. Instead, he needs to spend his money on other things, like housing. He could go to a job at a hotel where they could afford some food, and get his dad to give him two hours a day in case anything came up again afterwards. But, he might have to find a new job to do the work of his grandfather, or perhaps he could stay home and have his grandkid do

How this good intention of mine went bad. Well, my brother-in-law felt that his youngest sibling (my husband) he could not teach him anything. He wanted to come in as the project manager on the job we were working on. He also felt that because his brother was the owner of the company he should get higher wages just for showing up.

Poor Decision Making 3The decision was the wrong one to for several reasons. I will not write a paper about all of them, because the class does not last long enough. The top three reasons why it turned out to be a bad decision are: 1. It caused discord between my husband and I. 2. It caused discord between my husband and his family. Last, it caused discord between us (my husband and I) and our other employees.

The decision I made correlates with Nobel Laureate Herbert Simons theory of satisficing. Deciding to hire my brother-in-law satisfied the need of our company to hire another person. However, it was not the ideal choice to make as the results of my decision manifested. I also believe that in accordance to the definition of stochastic “1. Random; specifically: involving a random variable < a stochastic process> (www.lib.uchicago.edu). The random variable was my brother-in-law. I severely underestimated him. The random variable was his lack of desire to improve his circumstances. While
