Isnt it so remarkable? The dramatic changes that happened to the world in a very short period of time. I may not be mistaken when I say that the evolution that occurred in the past couple of decades is much faster and widespread than it ever was. It has became easier for a person to see his family half the way across the globe than it is for him to get himself a glass of water since doing so requires him to actually get up!
It is difficult for me to adjust to such rapid changes, even though Im not that old. Frankly, Im not old at all! But its truly hard to grasp the fact that ten years ago there were telephones, then came cell phones and , to my sheer amazement, a chip in ones teeth that allows him to talk freely to people whenever, wherever! What good would that do? Imagine being in the bathroom, for example. that is quite not the place one would want to receive an important, long expected phone call, say from work or parents.
Whats even tougher to comprehend is the fact that people , instead of getting smarter and more knowledgeable, are simply getting dumper and lazier! I, for instance, am being called a “grandma” because I love reading- Dr. Zhivago instead of Vouge Ð- knitting and following the news. Im not referring to The Insider or Fashion Police. REAL news where the anchors look like they were broadcasting from a fishery. If this was 1920, I would be a catch!
Questions arises once you take a moment and really think about this. Are we being controlled by our creations? Will we decline and deteriorate into soulless, meaningless and aimless vegetables that have nothing to do but depend on the machines they once were smart enough to create? Will “Idiocracy” Ð- A movie that has a somewhat realistic pint of view – come to life?
