Friedrich Nietzsche a German Philosopher
Friedrich Nietzsche a German philosopher, wrote about how he believed Christianity had denied the life of a person by the morals that had been set, and that these morals denied a person of their true existence by making it wrong for a person to follow their instinctive passions and desires. He deeply believed that these morals are what stripped a person from having life and that a life living according to Christianity and religion is not living life at all. But morality regardless if learned by the church or from just basic family values, backgrounds and traditions is vital for a human society.
According to Nietzsche Christianity has placed condemnation on the natural order of a man who chooses to live according to his desires and instinctive passions. However, there are over 4,000 religions around the world and even the religions that due not believe in Christianity still have some type of morals or beliefs that were taught or passed to reveal their way of life that they believe in.
These lessons and values are considered morals, morals as how to live a way of life, morals as a way of showing what is and is not acceptable in a way of life. For example, the religion of Buddhism, they worship no gods. Their ultimate goal as a Buddhist is to purify the heart to reach a stage of enlightenment that would eventually keep them from reincarnation and suffering.
To obtain this they believed in a great amount of self-discipline, including the setting aside and deadening of self-desires and passions. They are said to be a people that live with a great amount of discipline, values, and directives. In fact, there were many religions that existed before Christianity and many of these had nothing to do with Christianity, but yet these people still had a particular amount of rules and precepts, which they lived out for their time.
Although, without some kind of morals, regardless where they came from, guiding people and giving a direction on what is right and what is wrong, how would people distinguish and realize which passions and desires may be harmful? Passions and desires are much alike they both have to do with a strong emotion of wanting to do or have something.
Morality plays an important role to the everyday person because they are a set of guidelines that help us decide between adequate and inadequate behavior. Without morals, some sense of right and wrong taught throughout the millions and millions of years, it is impossible to know what passions and desires could be good for us and what passions and desires could destroy and harm others or us.
Although, many people are born into religion, certain morals and laws, one thing, which does not seem apparent to Nietzsche, is that people are still born with their own free will. Even though many are taught certain morals, traditions, and certain ways of growing up. Many because of freewill, choose their own path later on in life, they venture away from the lessons and directions that guided them along their way.
Nietzsche’s is commonly interpreted as being individualistic. Nietzsche is an individualist who opposes capitalism, the other forms of individualism
