Well her name is Phillis Weathley.?
She was born in 1753 Gambia, Africa. When she was little she was kidnapped Her gift was to write poetry with her thinking. The Weathley family was the ones that taught her how to read and write. In 1784 Phillis was living in a boarding house before she died. Phillis died in 1784 which was a short amount of time because she died at 31.

Interesting Facts
She was the first to earn a living from her good poems .She would never talk about her parents. Phillis was a slave. She was even good at writing poems. In 1777 she had to defend her littery ability at court because white people never thought that a black women would write an intelligence at writing poems like back then whites took advantage of black people.

Contribution to war
Phillis Weathley was the first African American to publish her poems. After shell write and publish she would give her poetry to George Washington. The reason she got to meet George Washington was because she got her freedom to write an slavery note to him which wasnt improved until the 16th president came.
