The person, who has most influenced my life, has been my mother. My mother was a black haired, blue-eyed baby. When she was 22 months old, she had a fever that went off the end of the thermometer, and Grandma was told she would not survive. Mom had gone blind during that time and when she got her eyesight back, her eyes turned brown. Mom had a lot of health problems including epileptic seizures.

Moms inspiration and outlook on life has been a great influence on how I have lived my life. I can never repay all that she has done for me. No matter how sick Mom was, she would never complain. When she was barely able to dress herself for the pain, she would take her time, as she did not want to worry us children and would not tell us how she was feeling.

Mom made sure while I was growing up that I had everything that was needed. She would do without necessities to make sure I received what was needed for me to succeed in life. She wanted for me to grow up healthy and become what I wanted to be.

What I hope to achieve with my diploma is to be able to provide for Mom everything in life that she has wanted and denied herself of, so that I could achieve my dream of obtaining my Bachelor Degree in Business Administration. My achievements will be due to the fact that I have the mother that God gave me.

My personal achievement when I graduate is to be able to purchase some property in the country, where Mom will be happy with her surroundings and have a place for her garden. I want to build Moms dream home.

My professional goal is to be able to move up in the Stanislaus County Sheriffs Department and use my training and work experience to be the best employee I can be. One that Mom will be proud to say to her friends and family, “Roberta is my daughter”.
