Love, by definition, is a strong feeling of affection towards another being. However love may be expressed in many different ways. For example a “binding love”, a “self love”, or a “perfect love”.

A binding love is a love that is not satisfactory or one in which one person in the relationship may feel obliged or restrained into. People may even see it as a selfish or a obsessive love. A selfish love, would be a love in which a person in the relationship is only concerned with their own feelings rather than the other persons. An obsessive love or “Mania”, the greek word for it, would be a type of love or maybe even a condition, in which one would wish to possess the person they felt strong feelings towards. This type of love according to the Bible could lead to codependency or sometimes even madness. A binding love could also be

Self love or as the greeks called it, “Philautia”, is believed to be the desire for oneselfs own happiness or security before another. In religious or biblical terms, it is implied that ones self love shouldnt exceed a certain limit and that the love for others should be greater than the one for themselves. However, self love is of great importance as it is also implied that because of the fact that humans were created “in the image of god”, they should love themselves for how god has created them.

One more major type of love is “Perfect love”, which many people may not believe in overall. Many religions believe that the strongest and the only real type of love is the one for god, as said in 1 John 4:12,

“No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God remains in us, and his love perfected in us.”
the Bible implies that the worlds love is no real love and that a person who hasnt felt the love of God, hasnt felt true love at all.
