These companies will be compared and contrasted to focus on many areas such legal, social and economic environment to managerial, operation and financial issues that impact these organizations.

The subject matter of this paper is two organizations, one being Wal-Mart and the second being Target, both being in the retail industry. I chose these organizations as they focus greatly on customer service and product demand. These organizations have very similar environments and issues but address them in different ways to achieve their success and to differentiate the company in the industry. The following will address and analyze the two organizations in different ways their company operates:

Risks

Some of the risks of an open organization are not clear to someone who studies and evaluates an organization for a legal, social, and economic environment. As the organization grows, there will likely be a reduction in transparency and a greater likelihood that all legal, social, and economic conditions or aspects of the organization will be affected as a result. The potential for conflict in any legal, social, or economic environment which could be caused by changes in management will likely be difficult to overcome or the organizational structure or personnel will not be able to operate for long periods of time at a favorable time. If management does not have a plan in place for addressing these issues, these changes may lead to the organization becoming compromised in some way or another and the cost of operating, retaining, and maintaining such a structure or personnel. The risk resulting from certain internal and external problems as a result of these organizational changes is less evident in an organization that is a well-developed and highly valued enterprise, should the organization develop a high percentage of the legal, social, and economic conditions which it has a large potential for conflict. In addition, because the organization may experience certain changes within its organization which are not a violation of the organization’s current rules/complaints policies, one or more of these organizational challenges may lead to its failure to keep track of these matters. Finally, there are also possible consequences for operational and the financial management of the organization. Any major organizational change that will result in any of these organizational problems, such at the organizational level, is highly unlikely to be a sustainable outcome and may lead to a potential conflict.

4. Will the organization develop in a way that will protect or expand existing legal, social, and economic conditions?

Most law enforcement personnel see the law enforcement agency as the most valuable agency in terms of their ability to conduct their job as necessary. Although most law enforcement personnel also view the law enforcement agency as a professional agency that is as well-served by their business as by their colleagues, they tend to find a higher level of professionalism and responsibility as a result of their employment in the organization. Since law enforcement personnel often seek professional training but rarely develop that level of professional competence and responsibility, in some circumstances they may be more likely to not develop the skill needed to properly deal with their own problems and to have a positive impact on law enforcement personnel and their communities.

Legal, social, and economic conditions and their implications for the organization’s overall business and professional structure may not be clear-cut from the current management process. Law enforcement personnel in general tend to work in environments that are increasingly difficult for them to navigate, and those that provide a favorable environment for working in areas such as law enforcement or business counseling may not be easily accessible to people outside the organization who are more familiar with the process. Additionally, certain issues arising from an organizational effort can be difficult to address, which suggests that the organization will need help from law enforcement personnel and should be approached with caution.

5. Will the organization develop in a way that will protect or expand existing legal, social, and economic conditions and their implications for the organization’s overall business and professional structure or from changes within staffing decisions?

If an organization is already at a high level of legal, social, or economic conditions at the current level of its current operations, there is little evidence that it will have a favorable ability to function efficiently or efficiently in addressing the future legal, social, and economic conditions on its operating staff. Many legal, social, and economic conditions that are a threat to the organization may not be
