The Gospel of Creation
CHAPTER TWO
THE GOSPEL OF CREATION
“I would like from the outset to show how faith
convictions can offer Ch
ristians, and some other believers as well, ample motivation to care for nature and for the most vulnerable of their brother and sisters.” World’s dilemma is the unending global warming issue due to the abusive actions of people. We sometimes forget that the world we are living is not ours in the first place; we are just inhabitants but not the owner. We are just boarders and God is the Landlord. He let us enjoy His wonderful creation but we never took care of what we borrowed. So in return, nature disperses her anger and revolt to our unending abuse and misuse of her resources. As a Christian, we have read in the bible this God’s words “till and keep” which tells us to till the land and keep it. “Tilling” refers to cultivating, ploughing or working, while “keeping” means caring, protecting, overseeing and preserving. This implies a relationship of mutual responsibility between human beings and nature. This should be part of our prayer, hoping that all the people will change and go back to the very first teaching of God on how to take care of His creation. We must find the real value of living for us to give importance of all thing things, material or not, that we have right now. Starting from this teaching, may we find peace in our hearts to get involve not in destroying our Mother Nature but in restoring its beauty.
