My LifeEssay Preview: My LifeReport this essayShould women be in frontline combat? This has been a very heated controversy for a long time, and now with the need for troops rising; it has become even hotter. Some believe that women should not be in frontline because they are incapable or less capable of performing the tasks that they need to perform. The opposing side believes women are capable of performing them just as well as men. So, I pose this question again: Should women be in frontline combat?

A womanпіÐs place isnпіЅt to be in the military in the first place, their role is in the home taking care of children. When America sends young women off to war the are sending them, kissing there toddlers goodbye to go and drive a truck. This is like saying that now we believe children arenпіЅt important anymore. A man can fill any job in the military, but the role of a mother can not be replaced. It is bad enough we take their fathers. But it is utterly unnecessary for them to lose their mothers also. Raising children is the most important job in society, and it now it takes a back seat to feminist ambitions to pursue sameness in the name of equality. (Knight) If all of our women join and are killed who is left to raise our next generation? Who is left to comfort the families and hold together our nation in its time of need? No one. If women were in combat roles they would not all die, but for the ones who did, their children…

I have no sympathy for any woman who wants to bring their own children to war. But the war in Iraq should be done with women warriors. The American experience is worse. Women in a woman’s role in domestic conflict is far greater than it needs to be. It will be a woman in all of us who gets a choice: stay home, become a father, play as a soldier or make friends. That sounds like feminism but I have no doubt this will be the case on the ground. (King) While I was in Afghanistan as a volunteer, I was involved in some kind of combat training. I went home with a group of 2 women and a friend the first time. I saw the women all have a clear understanding of a basic human right to protect my children. The girl was about 3 and my friend and I had a lot of fun and spent our time talking about how our young children could be a part of the future. Now, we have to be the most careful in our actions, and take care of our own lives. We all have our issues, but I think we are becoming aware. We are becoming aware of what our options are in the long run. (Knight) As an American, I don’t care where they are from, what their upbringing, and in what manner their fathers go to prison. We all will have to pick who they go back to, what they spend their families’ money on and go to college or not. While we pay little attention to our own deaths, we always have to consider the situation at arm’s length. But if we take care of our daughters and our sons then we need to be careful we can leave our children in their place. I am all for women’s military service. But if our military cannot stand up to American men as it was in Iraq, why can’t we? The issue should be whether the women can be involved or not. I do not think military children serve a purpose. I don’t think they are important enough. My wife and I do not understand how the military can afford to lose children to the enemy. Our children do not always get as well as other children, so we need a war for our own children. They need a war to take out all sorts of bad guys off the face of the earth with no hope of saving themselves. This is not feminism: this is about people’s lives. Men do not have the right to defend themselves and their families from bad men. Many men are not good enough and women are not qualified to do this. (Knight)

The issue of equality is that women are at a loss for words. It is time to leave it to us to get up and express our opinions, no matter their merit. You see, the world is changing, and everyone has changed over the years. There are many people that live and do business outside of the home with no right to be there. These people live in the middle class, or in parts of the world at least, but their lives are far more complex than those in the domestic arena. As we leave the home, some may think that we must look out for everyone else and turn a blind eye or try to ignore the concerns of those around them. But what I am saying is there must be a balance in place. Not just in the domestic arena, but also as a whole. We must think about the best way to handle our daughters, their parents, their close friends, and the other people that live in the home that need our help. Why should we not have the resources we need to help our mothers and
