National Military StrategyNational Military StrategyNational Military StrategyAmerican Political SystemsTerm Paper: National Military StrategyProfessor: Roger JordanDue Date: Week 9 (winter semester)As we will never forget what happened on September 11, 2001, neither will the rest of the world. Our lives changed that day; everyday people now know that, many people in other parts of the world do not like us. How could this type of attacked have happened on our own soil? This is a question that is asked by many. Yet the answer never seems to be available it was something that just happened. The only thing that we can do about it is to try to prevent something like that from ever happening again. Our government tries its best to protect its citizens from acts of terrorism like we saw on 9-11. First, while protecting the United States we must win the War on Terrorism.

On October 11, 2001, the U.S. government claimed the following: “Our government did not provide credible information to government organizations that suggested the imminent use of nuclear weapons or the proliferation of any weapon of mass destruction.” This claim was based on a U.S. government official who stated, “We cannot confirm that any other event has occurred before or since 2001 by credible information.”.

And, the following day: “U.S. government officials have told U.S. and foreign reporters that the alleged use of a nuclear weapon by al Qaeda has no direct or indirect bearing on the war on terror.”

So, when has the U.S. and our leaders ever asked for information about this attack but then turned to the Internet to see what has been found and how it did happen, what did they find? And how can the U.S. and our friends and allies know the true content of this attack for the public when their government has not offered to provide us?

Many Americans, including some Republicans and even some Democrats, believe that the U.S. government’s actions on 9-11 were an attempt by Israel, along with our allies Hezbollah, to use such weapons against Americans. They believe that this was in response to American military strikes on Lebanon in September 2001, Israel’s withdrawal of American troops from the city as early as July 2002; Israel’s invasion of Lebanon, beginning in July 2002, that included the destruction of Lebanese homes and military bases in northern Lebanon and attacks that devastated parts of western Lebanon; American and international sanctions against Israel following 9-11; and the U.S. military’s action in Iraq that included strikes on Iran and Syria. Most of these issues are also central to Iran’s nuclear program, as shown by the recent U.S. Senate hearings on Iran, and the recent revelations that Iranian warplanes have been carrying out military strikes on American bases. Those issues are also central to Saudi Arabia and its role as a sponsor of terrorism, as reported by the Washington Post and The Washington Post on August 15, 2001.

Our foreign policy is a lot more complicated today than it was ten years ago, and I suspect it will get worse until we start to question ourselves more frequently. But I am ready to challenge our government to make us responsible again for what happened on September 11, 2001. And I will do so when my life is threatened by the events on 9-17.

In the last few months, I have read over a dozen stories of people who have told me stories that make the experience of their lives more painful than the time it will take to understand everything that happened for the public to understand it. I have watched people, particularly older Americans, who tell me in interviews the day when their lives changed for the worse because of this attack were forced to look at what was happening on their own soil and at home and say, ”This is what they saw. This is what they didn’t see.” And it is true that our media, as a society, is constantly making decisions that could affect others and could impact the country for many generations after the attack has happened. The media are not always accurate, and it can make and break people’s lives. But in the end, these stories remind me of what our political leaders have said to the U.

The National Military Strategy is composed after every presidential election. With the security and interests of America in mind. The goal of the strategy is to allow all of the armed forces the tools to protect America. With an ever-changing
