Im a 22 year old student who just transferred from Lansing Community College this year. I lived in Lansing my whole life. When I was nineteen I moved out into an apartment with my friend because I was tired of living by my parents rules. After a while I started to realize how good I had it and how great my parents were.
I am here because I would like to further my education and obtain a degree in Interior Design. I have only been here a week and already I feel I have learned a lot, and not just from the information I get from class. Its so easy to just pick up things from people you meet or even from walking down the hallways.
What brought me to CMU was that I heard they had a really good Design program and all the people Ive spoken to say they have really enjoyed it and recommend doing it. I also came here because I wanted to get away from home yet if I ever needed something or just wanted to see my family itd only be an hour away.
When I arrived here I brought memorable pictures of family and friends, I also brought with me the knowledge that I have gained throughout my life. I left behind some special people in my life that I will never forget. They have taught me so much in the time that Ive known them. They would give me great advice and were always there for me when I needed them. I also left behind some not so special people who always brought on drama, hurt and pain.
