Introduction
Carl Robins is a campus recruiter for ABC inc., who has been in the company for only six months. Robins recently hired 15 new trainees to work for Monica Carrolls, the Operations Supervisor. The new trainees are to start working full-time by July. By Carols request, Carl must have the manuals, policy booklets, physicals, training schedule, and orientation for the trainees completed prior to employing them full time. One month before the deadline, Carl realizes the trainees will not be ready to start employment unless specific actions are taken.

Background
Carl Robins hired 15 new trainees to work for ABC Inc. The employees were told they must start work by June 15. Monica Carrolls, the Operations supervisor who the new hires will work for contacted Carl on May 15 to ensure that the training schedule, orientation, manuals, policy booklets, physicals, and drug tests are completed prior to June 15. Carl Robins assured Carrolls that everything will be taken care of and everything will be in order by June 15.

After Memeorial Day, 15 days after his assurance to Monica that everything will be ready, Carl pulled out the file of the new trainees to see that they werent complete. Physicals were missing, manuals were not ready, and the mandatory drug testing wasnt complete. Frustrated, Carl checked on the orientation room to confirm the orientation dates only to be surprised that the room was reserved for the entire month by Joe from the IT department.

Key Problems
There are several problems with Carls decisions and actions. This essay will list a few of them below.
The first problem is Carls lack of knowledge of company procedures regarding new trainees. Carl had been in the company only for a short time and undertook the task of hiring 15 new people. This lack of experience, and the task assigned to him of needing to hire 15 people for a specific department, Carl was only able to focus on one part of the job: hiring the personnel before the deadline.

A second problem is Carls commitment to Monicas request without taking into consideration if the task can be complete. On May 15, Monica contacted Carl about the various procedures and required documents regarding the new trainees. Carl assured Monica that everything would be in order, and the employees will be ready for work by the deadline of July. Carl had not checked the paperwork nor had he reserved the orientation room, but he assured Monica anyway. Carl assumed that it would work out, but he was wrong.

A third problem is Carls procrastination with ensuring the procedures be complete before the hiring deadline. When questioned on May 15, Carl assured Monica that everything would be in order by July. Yet Carl waited two weeks to open the files and check the paperwork and the booking of the orientation hall.

Alternatives
Carl Robins has made a few mistakes landing him in a small predicament. However, there are ways he can overcome this and still fulfill his obligations to the company and Monica Carrolls, the Operations Supervisor.

Carl must first arrive at a compromised agreement with Joe, from technology services. Joe needs the training room for the month of June, while Carl needs the room
