Over half of Americas households own a firearm, which does not include,
the number of Americans that own firearms illegally. Although new technology for weaponry
has advanced over the years such as, fingerprint recognition, and computerized sensors on the
grip of the firearm also prevent anyone but the owner of the weapon to fire it. The
critics of this new technology say “Some might believe that their weapon is now childproof and
could leave their guns loaded and accessible to children, trusting the “smart gun” feature to
prevent an accident.” I believe its common sense to not leave a loaded or unloaded weapon lying
around. Gun control is another big issue in America; there are pros and cons of this, both sides
have very strong points, so the big question is does gun technology actually help with the control
issue.
New technology in firearms has advanced a lot since the firearm was invented. From
internal chambers, spiral barrels, to the advances that have happened in the past few years such
as fingerprint identification, and computerized memorization grip. Statistics show that the new
technology helps prevent injury, or even death when using weaponry. The technology is only
there to help prevent deadly accidents. Only the firearm user is the only one who can actually
prevent these accidents
Gun control in America is a big important issue, statistics shows that people who own a
firearm permit actually have protected a police officer in distress. If the government could just
get rid of all of the firearms that are not registered the gun control issue would
