Industrialization in America
In the 1800s America as we knew it changed because of the Industrial revolution. New inventions changed the way people worked and their transportation. At that time most of the country was just rural areas but then small cities started to become big. The streets filled with garbage and farm animals walking around. Also entertainment was everywhere for people to go to. Also cities began to build things like canals, they were channels that ships could flow through. Another thing they used still used today, turnpikes were roads made by companies that had a toll. Also corduroy roads were log roads that people could travel on. With these it made transportation very easy and a lot faster. Especially the Erie Canal in New York, it connected with the Ohio & Mississippi Rivers making trade very easy for the whole country.

With new inventions being said lots of inventions were made that made things a lot easier for businesses. One of the first inventions that sparked the revolution was the spinning jenny; created by James Hargreaves in 1770-it let a person spin several threads at a time.
