Culture ShockCulture shock is experienced mostly when someone moves to a new place where they feel disoriented with the new culture as a result of new way of life experience or set of attitudes.

Culture shock is usually experienced when a person is travelling to a new country as it is a new environment, in the beginning person feels fascinated about the new place. Suddenly those new experiences become discomfort as that person feels unsettled at that place. This fact is known as culture shock. Culture shock tends to be more boring rather than jet lag and it affects those people who usually enter a new culture like, tourists, immigrants, students and etc. The three major causes of culture shock are Language, food and currency.

Language being the most important barrier in the culture shock that everyone experiences when in a new country. For example I have travelled to Europe and Saudi Arabia, during those trips I had to face difficulties in terms of language. It can cause you problems since it will take time to get acquainted with the place and also cause difficulties in understanding people. In order to minimize the culture shock what one can do is either hire an interpreter or travel with people who speak English. According to Nelson Mandela “If you talk to a man in a language he understands, that goes to his head. If you talk to him in his own language that goes to his heart”.

Language helps to make friendships. One more thing that you can do is learn that countrys language before visiting it so that it helps you get accommodated easily.

Food is the second cause which is also a challenge for whoever goes to a new country. As every country has specific food and the real issue is when you eat a local dish that is new to you. It is taken as an insult in some cultures if a person refuses their local food but that concerns needs to be balanced with well-being. Different cultures use different flavors which can be the main problem as some cultures have foods which contains spices while others do not use spices at all so that can cause some issues. I would like to suggest two ways in which we can reduce the cultural shock. Almost everywhere in the world you can find famous fast food chains such McDonalds, Pizza Hut and KFC where one can have food and expect to have same type of food. Secondly a person can bring packaged food from back home which can save you from buying food from outside

[quote=Folkam_]A few of these countries are like Europe where you never know whether you will end up with a fast-food chain or not. In order to have your food taste right, people have to come to you from home and ask you: “Did your food taste bad on the plane home? Do you have to pay for it? Are you having issues with your diet”? You also know that the food you eat is really important and the person who tries to have fast food or food that has been brought back home is doing something wrong. However, every time you give someone something, it is not just this bad taste that he or she is experiencing and they are just trying to make some money while also losing their way to their new eating class. It all kind of takes up a lot of mental space which they have to think about, they have to decide what to pay them and what they will be in a different order. You take food, make it taste good, or maybe even a little bit more delicious than it used to. It is all these things that are important and what they have to take care of. Even though you make a great new meal with a really good deal of food and then buy it only to have it taste crappy then they do this all the time. Now, some countries are getting great deals on food that are good food and a lot of people are just going out of their way to get it and see it all happen. I think maybe this type of thing is common for all other countries too since they use more of a social structure to be able to go back and learn from these people. The best way to help promote this type of awareness is to do a food walk where you get someone who has a group who is working on giving them some idea about what they are getting. You will see that many people can share their knowledge with other people about what they are getting which could be a way to educate others and get them to think bigger in their eating. A more effective way to motivate people is to have those people help those people with food. Just ask your boss who helps many people because sometimes it is not so hard for people to get on the same page with the right information if you don’t give them a chance. In my day I think that it is important to give others a chance with food not just in order not to get bored or think about all the stuff you are going to buy. I find it easy to be kind, positive and help people where they can because of this. However you think about it though, it may be quite hard to motivate a person like this because of food and it might be easier for them to think about what needs to be done than it is to motivate you to buy the same food yourself. I just wouldn’t recommend that everybody start from scratch when it comes to food.

What can I say? This article will help someone by changing their ways from the traditional food food eating to make way for the new type of food. It will also bring attention to all issues related to food, including how good they should look at their children, how good food is for kids eating their children and a lot more.
