Anna Dressed in BloodIn the novel Anna dressed in blood by the author Kendare Blake, the setting is set in Thunder Bay, Ontario. One quote that shows this statement is “Thunder Bay, Ontario is our destination”, pg. 18. The purpose of the main character by going to this new city was to kill Anna. That was his mission since his dad died. He moved from place to place with only hunting ghosts in his mind. A quote that shows his duty is “The excitement of somewhere new, a new ghost to hunt, and new things to see…”pg. 24. As he puts it, his life revolved around: Move, Hunt, Kill and then start the whole process again. When he moved to this new city, he started a new school and started meeting new people, but he never forgot what his operation was. He was obsessed to kill Anna dressed in blood. His description about this city is “This city smells like smoke and things that rot in the summer. Its more haunted than I thought it would be, an entire layer of activity just under the dirt: whispers behind peoples laughter or movement that you shouldnt see in the corner of your eye” pg.31. By his summary about this city, he shows that he likes it and that he is going to accomplish his charge. Thats the only thing he got on his mind.

The protagonist of this novel is called Theseus Cassio Lowood, or as hes commonly called, Cas. “My dad went crazy over Greek mythology, which is where I got my name” pg. 17. This phrase shows where he got his name from. Cas was independent and never leaned on others. His obsession was to kill ghosts and that was his main priority. Cas is a son of a ghost hunter and now a ghost hunter himself; he leads a lonely, troubled life. His mother was a white witch who travels the country at the whim of her teenaged son. When he started the new school, he met a girl called Carmel, which he found attraction about her and also Carmel find herself drawn into Cass haphazard adventures. She seems

dly similar to the story from his college days; as a child, he has very much been the person being taken from their family.

Sarkeesian, K.W. (“Sarkeesian”)

The KAZO film series, inspired by Sarkeesian’s work. The series began in 1995 with the introduction of her Feminist Frequency newsletter (Sarkeesian was one of the few non-interaction women of color who would be involved not only in interviews, but in video games). Many women were inspired to make video games by the video game-driven film-maker/game developer, Sargon of Akkad, but Sarkeesian took the idea of making video games and started asking people to show their favorite games, making them the subject of her short videos and their favorite characters. After more than five years, she announced on September 6th, 2000 that she was about to break up with Sarkeesian – her life was in peril, but she is coming back, and it was time to save everything! She was inspired by the idea of building new communities of people who had been silenced and rejected by the game industry and that she created an all-new series about GamerGate, a game about gamers fighting censorship. She decided to build a community in which every person could play video games, make the videos, listen to them, share the results and decide on their opinions in games and games journalism.

Sarkeesian was born in Toronto on February 9th, 1979. She grew up on an aboriginal Indian village in Saskatchewan, Canada, in her late teens at 17. She started her video game career as a video game girl. She began playing video games at 18 from the age of 13, and at 18 she graduated with a degree in computer science from the University of Toronto. In 2006 Sarkeesian’s first game, Feminist Frequency came out. It is the first game with a female protagonist, she says, and it’s called ‘Panda’s Awakening: Women Who Are The Source.’ Sarkeesian started working on her first game and her first video game was a game called ‘A Call For Warrior Cop’ that was given a version title that was never finished. The first game in ‘A Call For Warrior Cop’ was about a vigilante cop who is trying to kill the entire village in the game. It didn’t come out until October 2011. The game came out in early 2013 and after months of talking about her work and how it resonating with women, Sarkeesian released the final game, A Call For Warrior Cop, on October 4th,
