Task 2 (b) Test the required connection and document the result Task 3: Provide at least 3 enhancements that could benefits for the new computer network in term of increase the network performance and security Task 4: Produce at least 3 maintenance methods that important to be set up on the network and the maintenance should come with a list of staff need to perform in order to ensure the network remain secure REFERENCE INTRODUCTIONBased on this assignment, I as IT officer at Berjaya Corporation and I have received many complaints from the staff regarding the performance of the computer network in the company. Many staff complaints about the performance of the network that was too slow and some of them queried about the security provided on the network. Besides that, the information among the staff transfer too slow.
Based on the task 1, I was design the new computer network for the company and the network topology that I purpose for company is extended star topology and IP address protocol that I purpose company to use is IP address class C.Besides that, I also was comparing the new computer network with the current use by focusing on 3 areas which is cost, network performance and security. Besides that, I also apply the computer network that has been designed by using the Cisco Packet Tracer and the IP address also subnet ting that have been calculated before need to apply for all users and necessary equipment in the computer network. I also show the connection between on PC in marketing department with another PC in Finance department and the connection between one PC in any department with the Microsoft Mail Server through internet connection.Based on task 3, I also provide the 3 improvements that could benefits for the new computer network in term of increase the network performance and security. Lastly, based on task 4, I also produce 3 maintenance methods that important to set up on the network and each maintenance come with list of task that staff need to perform in order to ensure that the company network remain secure.Task 1(a) Network Topology and IP Address protocol use for the new computerNetwork TopologyThe network topology that I proposed for the new network system is extended star topology. The extended Star Topology is offers the same performance and consistency found in a star topology with the addition of the ability to cover greater distances from the central switch to the end nodes by adding repeaters or additional connectivity devices to the segments.
