His paintings were used to stir up support for the revolution as well as demonstrate what a good citizen does. His Neo-Classical style was known throughout the country. He was the spokesperson supporting a new social order. Later on down the road he would become Napoleons personal painter giving him an even greater role in supporting the revolution, and making it appear as the better position to hold. Davids most renowned painting however is not the one of Napoleon, but the one of Marats death. Encapsulating the feeling of respect for Marat as a leader of the revolution, and the sadness he felt himself over the loss of this leader.

This was the third meeting at a socialist congress in Paris. It was at this congress that David spoke about the Revolution, where the struggle had begun. The first time he mentioned his meetings with the masses was in Paris in January, 1885 (the day of Marats death). He even said there was an important meeting of people in D’Alles Plaza, where his first meeting was with a large group of socialists. This conference was called “The first” of the Socialists in Paris.

He also mentioned the importance and importance of an insurrection that needed an end to exploitation and the end to dictatorship because it could end the need for industrialization, i.e., the transition of workers to a state and to the state owning the means of production. The most significant thing about the meeting between David and the masses was the fact that David had been invited by the Socialists to show up and talk to them – this included their leaders in his own village. The group had gathered there to get a good overview of the issue and had been discussing the needs and issues of a reform of the feudal system and of a capitalist class system that had been abolished. David wanted to demonstrate his willingness to build better socialism in his own village. David then got to work on what was going to be the revolution. He was planning to have some “protest” or something to make the masses think about how the revolution could be successful. And eventually, he decided that he did not want to take the political action that the political revolution took but that the mass of workers around the world must start making decisions. And the Revolution needs to start in Paris. A successful reform of the feudal system, of production, and the peasantry is something that needs to start in Paris. And thus the revolution needs to start in Paris.

Marat was known for many different successes and failures in his life through education and the French Revolution. In his earlier years he was a doctor for the court as well as a philosopher. As he aged he became more politically driven, and outraged by the government. He then decided to start a revolution trying to bring an uprising to the people of France. Marats role in the French Revolution was leading it at the beginning, and getting it going as it was continued on after his assassination by Napoleon. The assassination of Marat was committed by a woman name Charlotte Corday shortly after his acquittal from the Revolutionary Tribunal. The reasoning for his assassination is due to the desire of the Girondins wanting him to be removed from power.
