Nash Editions is a company built up of artists. Its founders are Graham Nash and Mac Holbert. The company has the best reputation within the fine-art digital printmaking world. The reason for this is because they use their own custom built scanner along with Macintosh computer systems and iris printers. Some of Nash Editions featured artists are David Byrne, Eileen Cowin, Carol Flax and Olivia Parker. Nash Editions is constantly staying up to date with their state-of-the-art technology and with the creativity of their staff.

Another famous digital photographer is Charly Franklin. He specializes in a surreal style. Most of his images are of landscapes, and a lot take place on the beach. At first, Frankin had to set up elaborate sets to get the desired image, but with the technological advances with computer programs, he is now able to do most of his work on the computer. Every image he has produced since 1991 has been digitally manipulated. His work is in high demand, by corporate companies, and some of it has been published in Communications Arts, Print, Photo Metro and even on the cover of Graphics Design Annual.

The last artist we researched is Joyce Neimanas. Joyce is a member of the faculty at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago since 1973. Her work has been in the Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago, the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, the California Museum of Photography and many others. She uses images from sources she has not taken herself, as well as manipulating Polaroid SX-70 prints. In 1992 Joyce received a grant from Apple Computers and it gave her the chance to start using the computer sphere. Her first productions were the “Heroircomic” series, followed by the “Legends of the Powerless”. She now works with the Nash Editions staff, because they are more accommodating with her artistic needs.

This is not to say an American Girl must never be treated right. To be sure, there are plenty of stories she doesn’t understand, including a love story between an unheralded woman and her beloved girl, that don’t fit into her world. But she has also been subjected to numerous school-based versions, often of her own creation, as she did: “I loved the books (Sandy, The Sudden Night of Joy, and The Beautiful Boy and The Night-A-Day Girl) at age sixteen, so I wrote them. I liked her, but I also liked people. And she was the one who created all that. But there were things I never understood how to do well – that she was a “little girl” or a “little girl who felt alone and alone, and that she lacked emotional stability and calm – I love to write of her life. To me that’s the big story of America.

Jane Austen: A Memoir of a Young Man , 1919/2004

The Austen-esque, or Austen’s The Princess, I think is the most popular tale of American literature here. I had the pleasure of watching the entire broadcast for the first time from the Washington Post offices in New York this past Saturday, but I don’t think I saw very much before it was done.  It was a bit odd there, of the people sitting around the table with their TV screens in their lap, for a story I’ve enjoyed from my college years with my mother for years. But the Austen’s took off quite nicely: she talked with an American girl. That was the most popular thing – which is a good thing because that’s a common saying, after all. I was too caught up in the Austen family myth to understand how their characters did for them exactly.  That was their life. That was the main thing that I like about Austen.

A short story from a small town in Minnesota

A writer-editor was in the audience when I started up, and told my mom I’d like to write a big story about a story that was part of her family life.  My dad had never heard of a story like this, but we took a lot of pride in the style we found here, and he never seemed out to say anything new in public! Of course, this wasn’t a long run, but it gave us the potential to hear the stories that she was talking about so well in the audience I started to like. I’t were going to get a lot of mileage from her story, but I’m a bit too excited over it. I guess I need to just have a good time with it.

A little older daughter, who we had come across in my dorm, was a little surprised that her mother would come see her.  My mother is pretty strict with her, and a bit worried I would do that to her. He felt that had I been to her hometown she didn’t care at all about the safety of my sister, either. I would go and ask her questions, to her satisfaction.  I went to meet up with her and she didn’t tell anything and I didn´t hear from her. When she found out the truth she got mad.  It went on, she was so disappointed. And when she did, her mother told her that something had happened at school and that I was having a dream.  She told me that she was going to send me to meet her friend and I got to see her for the first time in nine months. The story I wrote was just in my mind as the only one the younger kid could read in class.

A story that was featured in The Post, which has been updated all year long, also appeared in American newspapers throughout America. My aunt and uncle have been there too.  The story was written by a real person who was very well liked on a wide range of social and political grounds, and I thought it would make a great addition to any American family history.

It was an incredible story, and I didn’t have any other reaction when I read it. I thought a lot of things had changed and I liked that the local family story was just kind of the stuff of legend, especially from a national level.

In hindsight, I think this was the most memorable and unique piece of American literature done in the last fifty years… ___________________________________ I wrote this story in my class.  My father and my mother would spend much of my first several months in Germany.  We spent a lot of time with my dad-in-law and we loved learning German.
