Sustainable Approach for a Company
BBVA Case Study
Radu Timis
I believe that it is a sustainable approach for a company to offer as much transparency as possible in its communication both internally and externally, however to different degrees. Transparency is important because it shows employees, customers and other stakeholders that the company is on its track, it is in line with its objectives and that all its actions are legal, ethical and responsible. It also helps establish more efficient work relationships and work habits between employees, professionally.Inside the company itself, employees must show an effective departmental communication, not only within their own but also with the others, communicate and share information as necessary in order to complete certain projects, concerning the operational functionality of the company. Employees are also much more confident and relaxed when they are aware of most or all of the information their colleagues have and they are able to work at the same level. However certain pieces of information such as future purchases, future developments and plans at the top management level or important financial information should not be communicated only to people that are directly involved in these things, because of certain risks such as the divulgation of information on the market, etc. Especially in large organizations, until specific projects or decisions are not implemented, they must be kept confidential. In a company in which information and communication are completely democratized, security threats can represent an important issue.

In addition, blog and wiki tools vary in their look and feel; this means that the host will have choices about tools, regardless of whether the tool is a blog or a wiki format. I believe that this does not show a lack of formal strategy for BBVA because both tools would be more efficiently used separately, blogs more for shorter pieces of information, while wikis as larger centers of information, where users can share and edit information more effectively. Blogs should be kept in my opinion more official, where content is edited by very few people, a tool which could be more credible for the outside stakeholders of the bank, while wikis where many more employees could have access should be kept more internal, excluding the information that the company is willing to share on the market and in this case it could
