This essay is about how lennie is innocent to the murder of curleys wife. I strongly agree that lennie did this by accident and didnt mean it. And some of the proof I have is that George excessively tells Lennie not to talk to Curleys wife because all Curleys wife wants to do is cause trouble in the ranch. Lennie in the most part is true to his word to ignore Curleys wife. He sometimes even hides from her. This last time Curleys wife gets Lennie by surprise. Lennie is already nervous and scared because he has just finished killing his new puppy that Slim gave to him. Lennie and the pup were playing, and the puppy bit Lennie. Thats when Lennie hit the puppy with so much force that the puppy died immediately due to Lennies hit. also some of the quotes that will go with this evidice is this, “Lennie said, “Oh! Thats nice,” and he stroked harder. “Oh, thats nice.”

“Look out, now, youll muss it.” And then she cried angrily, “You stop it now, youll mess it all up.” She jerked her head sideways, and Lennies fingers closed on her hair and hung on. “Let go,” she cried. “You let go!”(91).

and to finalize my argument this is something else I want to add to my statement ,Most people always have an innocence to them, some more than others. Those that hurt people intentionally and dont care about other peoples feelings may not have that innocence. Lennie is the biggest kid around. Problem with him being a so called kid is that hes actually a rather large grown man. People say he should be locked up in a Looney house; hes never going to be of any use or do well in life. Well should he? He doesnt mean any harm. Lennie in this novel always acts like a child and never means the harm that he accidently causes.
