MOVIE REVIEWS :Udta Punjab : While the fuss is about the drugs, the movie takes a stand for things far more superior. What characterizes Udta Punjab for me is the cult status with which a celebrity is followed and worshipped and then thrown to the dogs just as soon. Tommy Singh, the once worshipped lad for his “uber cool” lifestyle is cursed once he sheds that and tries to take a stance against it. The movie depicts both the weaklings who surrender to the easy way out and then a strong some 17 year old who shows incredible strength to come over it inspite of the miserable conditions she is living in. Rightly put by Kareena, the real war on drugs will actually be won when those engulfed by this menace are able to fight internally and come out of it.Tanu weds Manu Returns: Just when you thought that our queen couldnt get any better, Kangana comes back as Tanu and Datto(my personal favourite of the two)! Kangana delivers a power-packed performance in her double role, Deepak Dobriyal as Pappi ji adds on to laugh riots with his impeccable comic timing! Sadly, Madhawan has very little to do in the sequel. The tracks, as already have been hitting the charts, make you groove to their tunes. All in all, a must watch, and Kangana you go girl!!Rangoon is not a bad film at all. Yes if you compare it to the films Vishal sir has made it doesnt live upto the expectation and perfection. Few elements in the movie will really bothers you like CGI, number of songs and the length of the movie but there are a few things to compensate for that like direction, performances by the actors and action sequences.I really liked it. Would love to watch it again.If youve read all the bad reviews and thats why youre not going for the film then I must tell you its worth your time
