Supersized America directed by Morgan Spurlock
Running time: 98 mins
Morgan Spurlock (a New Yorker) discovers an unbelievable truth about what goes in our fast food. Also how and why America is the fattest country in the world? Mr Spurlock investigates in his new documentary Supersize me. What are the shocking secrets?

This movie is a documentary and its general message is for us to look after ourselves with what we eat. If we eat too much of fatty foods or what and how much should we eat fast foods, what will be the outcome and consequences?

What would happen if you ate nothing but fast food for an entire month? Filmmaker Morgan Spurlock does just that and embarks on the most perilous journey of his life. The rules? For 30 days he cant eat or drink anything that isnt on McDonalds menu; he must wolf three squares a day; he must consume everything on the menu at least once and supersize his meal if asked. Spurlock treks across the country interviewing a host of experts on fast food and an equal number of regular folk while, investigating down at the Golden Arches. Spurlocks gruelling drive-through diet spirals him into a physical and emotional transformation that will make you think twice about picking up another Big Mac.

The main character is Morgan Spurlock and his main task is to find out why the people in America are so fat. By doing this he finds out some secrets and he risks his life for doing an experiment, just to prove a point. At the beginning of the documentary he was healthy and in good shape, but soon that changes. I think Morgan Spurlock was quite brave for taking risks, which he did not know how much damage it could cause.

Personally, I think the shot angles in this documentary are fantastic. He knows how to make something stand out rather than everything look the same. He understands how to use props effectively, for us to know where the scene is being set in. There are varied scenes, e.g. some are comedy, some are romantic and some are packed with information. My favourite scene is when he asks three ladies and a child to sing their national anthem, however instead of knowing that, they know the McDonalds song of by heart.

I think this movie is better than I expected. The good points were probably it had quite a handful of information and facts. For example; after one month Mr Spurlock got nausea, gained 24 ½ pounds, his cholesterol levels rose by 65 points etc. Bad points would be it did not show a lot of Morgan Spurlock eating his one month experiment, also it shows Mr. Spurlock throwing up and it shows us his vomit. I would recommend this to everyone. This is because; I want people to find out the secrets
