Miss Moore is a very intelligent African American woman, that got her education and feels kind of obligated to make sure the children get there education and further it more. She also wants to teach “The Lesson” to the children. A lot of people envy her due to her wits. Miss Moore shows the children the economic disadvantages and inequalities they have being minorities. Miss Moore tries to be a great example and show the children that if you want something you can get it you just have to be willing to change some things. The children dont seem to get the point and think Miss Moore is annoying. The children and Miss Moore all

Miss Moores name seems to be a symbol because she teaches the children “The Lesson” and teaches tends to teach more and more so enhance your learning and understanding of certain things just as Miss Moore was doing.

I believe children do know the value of money but not to a certain extent. I believe if you work hard and want to change how you are or how you may turn out you can, you just have to fight hard to change it. There are always going to be trials and things that are going to knock you down but its up to you if you get back up and push harder and endure and create something from your problems you have encountered then you can endure anything. I believe that Miss Moore was kind of on another level branching to Sylvia and in a way telling her to take something and absorb and then make do out of it. I kind of felt that Sylvia was feeling singled out and thats the real reason she left the store. Miss Moore wasnt intentionally trying to single anyone out, she was trying to get the lesson across.
