In order to change a book to a movie, some minor changes must be made. In changing The Lord of the Flies, many things were different, but also many were the same. In my opinion, the book was better.

In the book and movie, many things were the same. For example, the way the conch started off with much power and respect from the boys in both the book and the movie. The conch was disregarded more and more as the boys came into savagery. In this respect, the book and movie couldnt have been changed much, otherwise the whole story line would change. Also something the book and movie had in common was the way they both conveyed the struggle between good and evil. Goldings idea was that society is what holds people together. This indicates that he believe that it is human nature to be evil, and that without society, people would fall apart.
