This paper is written to analyze the biological and humanistic approach to personality. The details were enhanced by Maslows hierarchy theory, discussing the growth that influences personality formation. This paper will explain the biological factors that influence the formation of personalities, along with describing the basic aspect of humanistic theory that are incompatible with biological explanations of personality.

To identify personality several meanings can be offered, which gives explanation, and description of an individuals character. The First impression can help in identifying an individual by his/her personality. By first impressions a person can be characterized as charming, dominating and arrogant. Fundamental types of personalities have been described by the researchers which were found during the stages of development of an individual, and those factors are environmental surroundings, and heredity, Maslow was specialized in behaviorism of individuals living healthy and peaceful lives. Maslow research was on human behaviors in a positive aspect because other psychologist researchers studies on mental disorders. Self-actualization theory of Maslow originates from a person and not from his/her environment.

The different strategies regarding personalities have been a description of framework for example, the bio-physical strategy, and the bio-social strategy. Freud analyzed the psychoanalytical strategy in individual behavior for the factors of psychological modification in persons social roles. Maslows concept and framework is beneficial in knowing humanistic behaviors. Behaviors of what is considered the human needs that begins from the base of the pyramid. Basic needs are the base with the more challenging needs at the top. “According to” psychologist Abraham Maslow the type of needs are Physiological: food, water, and emotion, Safety-Security: defensive, shelter, Belongingness and Love: affection, accepted, and faithfulness, Esteem: appreciation, admiration, Cognitive: thoughts, reasoning, imagining, and learning Aesthetic: beautiful, gorgeous, and well-favored, Self-Actualization: realize fully ones potential Self-Transcendence: successful in life and self management in day to day life.

Although there are several experts of Maslows concept, his analysis continues to be essential to the medical industry. As a father of humanistic mindset Maslow instructs that one of the hierarchies of individual needs is success and protection, before social, and religious needs are noticed. The Alzheimer have been carefully noticed, and analyze by Care providers describe how individuals memory fades but the sense of linking with others, and the need of safety was not lost (July 11, 2010). A humanistic technique highlights the innovative, natural, and active characteristics of humans. These techniques are usually positive, as when they focus on the royal individual potential to get over problems and hopelessness.

Humanistic theory is based on the idea that, if a persons needs are satisfied then they have the capability to make a positive or negative contribution to the society and community. This makes them to be likeable and good citizens. The theory states clearly that every one is basically good. The theory mainly focuses on the ones self. It states that an individual is free to do whatever they like or what they want, and the environment should not affect them at all. Humanistic theory mainly deals with issues like self-fulfillment, self esteem and the needs of the individual. This theory majorly focuses on the personal development of an individual.
