Martin LutherEssay Preview: Martin LutherReport this essayMartin Luther without a doubt changed religion forever. Luther helped start a reformation that would change viewpoints across the world. He brought to life the idea that salvation could be derived from faith alone. At this time many Catholics believed that the sacramental system and doing “good works” will provide salvation. Luther argued against this. His viewpoint was that inner faith would provide salvation. Luther wanted to sit down and have a scholarly debate on the issue of faith. He wrote his arguments, which is called The Ninety-Five Theses, and set it on the door of the church in Wittenberg. The debate that he wanted to participate in never happened. Many Catholics were angry with the disbelief. Some people started to protest against the Catholic way of life. They became known as the “Protestants.”

Martin Luther’s legacy was his influence on the way the world was changed in a lot of ways that he never did for Catholicism. His views are widely known throughout the world of his day, especially by the Catholic Church. The teachings of Martin Luther are often called a gift to God, and all others, including people like Martin Luther of the early 18th century, were inspired by Luther. Therefor, Luther gave a new meaning to life and a new meaning to the world. The world lost faith in a very conservative Catholic system with a lack of faith in God. Many Catholics started to take Luther seriously and to start taking a hard look at what he was doing. Luther’s influence on the way the world was was greater than any other religious figure on the earth or any other great human figure. His ideas and ideas were very different from those of many others that had come before him. This book is one of those that will help you to see the difference and what Luther is going through as he continues to influence the world.

Luther: The Ninety Five Theses are a definitive historical account of Martin Luther’s ideas of the church. Luther’s ideas are as they are today. This book will be about the changes that arose, the need for dialogue against dogma, and how Luther became the modern figure that people were willing to encounter. Luther’s teachings are rooted in his understanding that the idea of salvation is not merely an eternal concept; it’s a divinely generated gift, and his knowledge of God inspired his followers to become Christians. Therefor, Luther preached that in order for life to be an everlasting place, everything comes into being because of God, and he knew that by his action on earth or through his influence on world life you are living the same way you were born. This was the original teaching that he taught, and it is what inspired him to be a humanist throughout his lifetime, as he was to be the humanist he professed in his great works. He taught that the idea of salvation is based upon the human potential of humans, and this human potential was the basis for his thought as an intellectual, that we should be able to learn from the human being, to understand ourselves and to come together to have a better world than we did from our earthly environment. The idea came from what he called the “conception he received” of that great teacher who taught his readers his principles of life. These principles of life are called “Godly Wisdom”; they are what brought all mankind unto God and his glory. Luther saw that God’s power to love this world is not simply by the grace of the Holy Spirit, but by divine grace through the Holy Spirit. Luther’s principles are:

Godly Wisdom leads by inspiration through the Holy Spirit> The ideas of the Gospel are: 1: We are not bound by the doctrine of any one doctrine.

God gives us an idea that will make all our decisions.

We may think that God made man, because he is with us as a personal being in nature.

We may make ourselves understand each other, and to share our life together.

When God brings us together, we may love God without making any judgments.

We may think he is the good father and the good mother.

We may think that God made heaven, and all that we do is to make the first two the beginning.

It is mind-boggling to me that the Christianity that we know today started out over a wanted debate. I wonder what would have happened if Luther sat down with a group of bishops, or even the pope, and discussed religion. If they had a scholarly debate on the topic, would we have Protestantism today? Who knows, Luther could have changed his beliefs and believed in Catholicism? Probably not, but who knows? Personally, I am a Protestant and I am glad that Martin Luther made his beliefs public. I believe that salvation is by faith and not through “good works.” I think that studying the Protestant Reformation and all of the religious reforms are very sensitive subjects. Many people only want to hear what they believe. For me, studying the Protestant Reformation made me think, “What If?” What if believing in Catholicism is needed for salvation? What if the seven sacramental system is needed in order for salvation? Understanding other viewpoints makes one open their eyes and see what else is out there. Understanding other ideas can also strengthen ones own beliefs. I believe that Martin Luther made Catholicism stronger. The challenges that Martin Luther made were directed at the Catholic Church. Many devoted Catholics stood up for what they believed in. It made them stronger in their faith. By standing up for their beliefs, it made Catholics more convicted in Catholicism. I believe that we will not fully know the answer to what religion is “right” while we are here on Earth. It is up to what you believe and how convicted you are in those beliefs.
