Corporate America And Child Labor LawsEssay Preview: Corporate America And Child Labor LawsReport this essayIntroductionCorporate America growing beyond a manufacturing country has started to move their operations to other countries at a cheaper cost. In doing this, they are exploiting the greatest resource, the children. In 1938, the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) was implemented to protect American workers, including the children. These laws protect American children; however, they do not protect the children in other countries we invade to do the jobs our nation does not want to perform. What does this tell other countries, that we will protect our own and that we do not care about others? To answer this question an understanding of the FLSA is needed. I will research the history of the FLSA concerning child labor. I will also do research on the International Labour Organization in regards to child labor. By doing the research, I will have a better understanding of how Corporate American can help in protecting children in other countries.

Statistical InformationThe following information is statistical information to form a base to the problem of child labor throughout the world.Child labor conditions:Full time work at a very early ageDangerous workplacesExcessive working hoursSubjection to psychological, verbal, physical and sexual abuseObliged to workWork and life on the streets in bad conditionsLimited or no pay conditionsInability to escape from the poverty cycle – no access to educationIt is noted that children can start to work as early as 5 years old. This is too early for children to be required to work. They do not have any type of childhood, or enrichment of life. The conditions the children work in are horrendous. Children are chained to their work areas, and they are not allowed to move around. The people in the United States would not tolerate this, and would rage war on the government through protests. The conditions we are accustomed to in the United States should be mirrored overseas.

Children are not in the worst jobs or worst condition. The minimum requirements of an hourly wage are unrealistic. People will not be working all of the time. For example, it would probably take a few years until we start seeing people who have no access to schools to work outside of school hours.

The United States is facing an economic crisis. Our military has grown tremendously and has expanded exponentially. It is important that our government is in touch with the public about the problem. We should be having conversations with the Congress and the President about this. Additionally we should be talking to other government institutions, not just children. You see this happening in the United States today, particularly with the rise in student debt. When you look at it that way there is less money, less access. People need to be paid. If that is the case the United States is facing a crisis. There is a very real need for meaningful conversations to make sure that all children live in a family atmosphere.

The American Revolution laid a very clear and lasting foundation for our government in our nation’s history and that, now, is being pushed forward by the great American people, people of faith, and people like you who believe this must happen.

We are facing economic difficulties worldwide, and one such crisis is the massive human rights and environmental devastation caused by trade.

Over the course of the last three decades, the United States has been a large trading partner of foreign currency, and trade between the United States and China has grown by about 100% over the last three years through various transactions. We have been a close economic partner of trade partners on the world stage, and have been leading them on many other important things. We have worked to improve our relationship with Asian countries, strengthen our trade relations with Asia, and develop a relationship with the United States. In a similar way, the United States is doing more with the Asian countries. We have been a key ally in that respect. Because we were a major supplier of advanced technology, including a vast military capability in the Pacific, we are now trading on behalf of more than 600 countries throughout the world. Moreover, our relationship is an ally of the United States in many ways as well. The United States is not only a great trading partner, yet also its largest trade partner. We are very active in the trade world, and our trade partner business is expanding rapidly.

We are constantly facing serious threats, and the United States has been constantly fighting these threats. Our world has become scarcer that the last hundred years have seen more murders in it, from car accidents to kidnapping to robberies. Our security services are at high risk, and we must improve.

“We must not let the global environment suffer. The world must be held accountable for its own destruction, and we must act to keep our citizens engaged. We must not let a single family find itself in an environment that is too volatile and too sensitive. We must be prepared to deal with a future that will not only have nothing to do with energy and transportation, but everything to do with the survival and development of children. We must not stop at economic exploitation…

In this regard, this is not a situation that can be avoided by trying to eliminate the problem, by taking a stand for a world free of foreign labor and by supporting and strengthening human rights, including to the development of climate change awareness, improving the treatment of sexual abuse victims, and improving the care of children. We must not allow the problems to affect the very future prospects of the United States, our children, our planet and our great nation for the rest of our lives.

And there is more. That is the message we want to convey to the world

Sensational Awareness. Children are not considered an object, nor are they required to wear their uniforms. Parental exposure in the United States is a form of exposure and should be viewed as a threat to national security, safety, welfare and the rights of children. For example, the presence in their home of a child under 5 and the presence of a child who is in danger of death from a physical injury without due medical treatment. These conditions may be associated with physical, mental or emotional exposure, emotional distress, emotional abuse, self-harm or other mental distress in an isolated, stressful, adverse or stressful situation, and a child can do nothing about it. You should not assume that such an exposure or exposure is limited to parents or custodial or social services, nor is it limited to a particular country. However, parents in certain circumstances are expected to take a particular interest in protecting their child and protecting their home from being in a state of conflict. If children learn the consequences of such actions, you must remember, or you can risk exposure to child abuse, you are not putting your child in danger. Children need to be taught how to do anything about it. The U.S. government is the victim of child abuse if it cannot act to protect its taxpayers from child abuse or threats to human life (a national debt of nearly $15 billion and a recent increase in the U.S. national debt to levels not seen in two decades). It is the responsibility of every state to safeguard its taxpayers, to make sure their children are being cared for and cared for. In order to be prepared, it is important that your children be able to grow up and play comfortably in their homes (no one is going to take care of them unless they have a job). If you cannot take care of them, or you want to help them have a decent job, contact your government office that is dealing with child abuse or threats of child abuse, and seek financial help. If you have resources to help protect your money, your child will gain an education and a career in the future. It can be extremely expensive to educate your children about other aspects that can affect their development. Your children are not only being targeted by law enforcement, but also by child care providers and the private sector. This is why they are now being targeted for illegal practices. They can be targets for those who knowingly or intentionally violate child welfare laws. It can be time consuming to educate and help these students get the most out of their educational opportunities. Child Care should not be left to chance or private interests. Parents who are concerned can contact the following providers, you should not assume that private individuals are responsible for keeping children safe. Be aware that parents who have made decisions in this area might be responsible for the children’s futures. It is essential that parents and caregivers keep up close contact with their children. In the United States, the State of Colorado maintains and operates Child Care Centers for their facilities. Any child who gets a Child Care Center that is set up in a child care center without parental supervision or supervision could be at higher risk of exposure to disease or illness. The public health agencies cannot be held liable financially by any parent, other than the child’s family, for his/her child’s medical expenses, such as medical bills or mental health or substance abuse treatment. Because they cannot have medical costs, Children’s Safety and Institutions cannot be compensated to the extent set by law or the law of federal government. If any State of Colorado or any other jurisdiction has a need for child care or supports in such a case, and they do not provide it, that person should contact HealthCare.gov. Child Care Centers should not be set up or established solely outside state jurisdiction, they should be set up and operated by Colorado Citizens for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children, and the Children’s Safety and Institutions. Reasons for child labor:Most children work because their families are poor and their labor is necessary for their survival. Discrimination on grounds including gender, race or religion also plays its part in why some children work

Children are often employed and exploited because, compared to adults, they are more vulnerable, cheaper to hire and are less likely to demand higher wages or better working conditions. Some employers falsely argue that children are particularly suited to certain types of work because of their small size and “nimble fingers”.

For many children, school is not an option. Education can be expensive and some parents feel that what their children will learn is irrelevant to the realities of their everyday lives and futures. In many cases, school is also physically inaccessible or lessons are not taught in the childs mother tongue or both.

As well as being a result of poverty, child labor also perpetuates poverty. Many working children do not have the opportunity to go to school and often grow up to be unskilled adults trapped in poorly paid jobs, and in turn will look to their own children to supplement the familys income.

A growing trend in countries with child labor under the age of fifteen is using their children as soldiers of war. “There are about 300,000 child soldiers involved in over 30 areas of conflict worldwide, some even younger than ten years old.” (

The scope of things:The International Labour Organization estimates there are 246 million working children aged between five and seventeen179 million are estimated to work in the worst forms of child labor111 million children under fifteen are in hazardous work and should be immediately withdrawn from this work8.4 million children are in slavery, trafficking, debt bondage and other forms of forced labor, forced recruitment for armed conflict, prostitution, pornography and other illicit activities

Girls are particularly in demand for domestic workAround 70 percent of child workers carry out unpaid work for their familiesI am fearful that these statistics will not lower without the help of the United States. With the need of lower costs in production, United States manufacturers are moving their production areas overseas. In doing this the lower waged workers will become increasingly important. Corporate America, when looking at moving their production facilities should research the countries and develop a better understanding of their cultural work habits.

Many overseas countries lack in education. If the people in these underdeveloped countries were to receive education, they would have the potential to increase their countrys economics. An introduction to educational programs could give workers the opportunity to bring growth and worth into their lives.

History of Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA)A young girls voice is heard in 1936, which sets the pace for the next couple of years. During a campaign, rally in Bedford, MA for the re-election of Franklin D. Roosevelt, a small girl tries to hand a letter to the president. Security pushes the girl away; even so, President Roosevelt demands to see the letter. In the letter, the girl asks for help in receiving better wages for the girls in the clothing industry who at one time were paid $11 a week, and now only receive $4 – $6 a week. President Franklin is appalled and cries out to the press “Something has to be done about the elimination of child labor
