Management comprises of series of activities that are related to one another[2]. The major four activities includes; planning and decision making, organizing, leading and controlling.Planning and Decision MakingPlanning refers to the process of coming up with organizational goals and objective and making the decision on how to achieve them. The future of any organization depends on the decision made by the top management during initial planning. For the top management to make the best decision for the future plan of the organization, the managers should have the necessary skills that will enable them to foresee the possible outcomes of problems and be in a better position to come up with ready solutions to deal with the problems[3]. Therefore, planning is the major activity in the management process and other functions of management depends or relate to it.OrganizingOrganizing is the second management function after planning that ensures that the set goals are moved closer to its achievement. Organizing refers to a process of dividing and allocating works among the individuals and making use of other organizational resources with the aim of achieving the set goals. It involves balancing the requirements of the organization for stability and change. Organizing provides the relationship structure that is used to attain organizational goals.LeadingLeading is the process of influencing organizational personnel to ensure that the set goals and objectives are achieved. Managers at various levels of the organization are responsible for guiding and directing their subordinates to ensure that they are working towards a common goal[4]. It involves motivating employees as well as providing effective form of communication between the subordinates and the top management staff. Leading is a bit challenging as compared to other management functions since it involve convincing people to work hard for the betterment of the organization goals[5].
