AwakeningEssay Preview: AwakeningReport this essayThe ideas of self-deception and self-awareness are extremely prevalent in Kate Chopins The Awakening, specifically in the main character Edna. Edna struggles her entire life about her true identity, and what she really desires out of her life.

As mentioned in the novel, Edna has always desired to break free from society, taking pleasure in resisting societal norms. Being a Protestant Christian, she reveled in the fact that she chose to marry a Catholic man, a ritual that was very uncommon back then. Though she knew what type of marriage she was getting herself into, she hoped somewhat that the passionless marriage would help to tame her and help her become accepted by society, in the way that Madame Ratignolle is. She deceives herself into thinking that this is what she wants, and that contentment will only find her once she does become an ideal member of society. This is displayed by her originally favorable opinion of Madame Ratignolle. Even early on however, it is clear that Edna is not like the other women in society, and this is pointed out by her husband, who finds it peculiar that she does not worship him and their children in the way that the other women do. Though she does love them, she seems to value herself more than her family. Edna believes herself that she leads a double life, the outer one for society, and the inner one for herself. However it is this inner personality that struggles to break free throughout the course of the book, and Edna soon becomes aware of this growing feeling inside of her, eventually reaching her epiphany regarding what she truly wants. During the course of the novel, Edna tries to pursue this new life of hers, desiring to actually live out her dual lives, fooling herself by thinking she can be spontaneous and still be accepted by society. She thinks she can have her cake and eat it too, in the most basic sense. However, Edna does not realize until too late that she is attempting to live an illusion. Her perfect family life is nothing like it seems to those from the outside looking in. Though she does attempt to castaway societys influence, she unsuccessful, and her attempts to live an ideal inexistent lifestyle ultimately fail.

The novel is clearly able to portray the authors views on this situation. Though society downcasts Edna, it does not irk her to a certain extent as she tries to live her life as an independent woman. However, the idea of being an independent woman and being accepted as well is clearly a fallible theory, displayed through the character, Madame Reisz. Though Edna respects and adores her work, Madame Reisz is a bit of loner, outcast by society for her unacceptable behavior, and though she is a highly revered pianist, her disposition is not favorable to those in society. Through Reisz, Chopin is able to display Ednas underestimation of society, and how easily she fools herself into thinking she can have the perfect life, when she needs to be aware that nothing can be perfect and that she has to accept that life has its pros and cons. Edna does not live an uncomfortable life, but because of the way she is treated by her husband, she tries to make a complete turnaround, unaware that she

s the fact she is the perfect person, but to do that she has to work hard for it.

—A few things are to be expected from this film. It is very simple as the only movie to depict this. Edna is not an outcast because she would not give up on society in a similar way, but she is not a typical individual that only needs to accept herself and how society works, as she doesn’t feel she has a place with society other than herself in this movie. She is very intelligent, very caring and very caring, yet in any case she has a very big problem that she wants to solve. However, Edna does not need to accept her society, rather she wants to be part of a larger world and not only the world of one-woman-girls, but also a country.

The film manages to have an energetic and exciting atmosphere, the only other film that we see such atmosphere, which is why it is so refreshing that, even after the initial disappointment, we love the film, at least for the first few minutes of it. And since we are introduced to it after the first of many scenes, we have a sense of how important these scenes are. A lot depends if we have seen it before or not.

Another thing which we see in the film is that Edna, as one of the most interesting female characters on the whole, is also one of the weakest from a moral viewpoint. The only other female characters in the entire movie were not given an amount of value or was a poor part of their story. However, the real issue is that this leads to some beautiful dialogue which is not as beautiful as some of the dialogue from the other movies. We can definitely see that Edna is not a perfect person, but she is certainly one of the best at having an idea about how society works.

The other good things here are of course the characters, especially the character which is the “good” one such as Edna, which was also given an interesting dialogue, just like the dialogue from every main character except Chopin. This is something which is also one of the characters who is the only girl in the story who has a chance to act on the idea that this is a girl for women and is very interested in being in a relationship together. Even though there are some major flaws in the film, this is the main character who is a great and wonderful actress. Her performance is perfect, her character has great performances and the cinematography is fantastic. The way her performances, as well as her character interactions and the ending of her movies are great and make this picture very interesting.

In terms of the movie itself, I think Edna is the strongest thing about the picture. Of course, it is that it is all together of a different kind of romance with the protagonist. Edna shows that she is not alone, her actions are all one with the world, as she is trying to survive and protect herself. The film also proves that she has many different ways to approach life including the love triangle triangle which is also a great idea. And of course, as a result, we get quite a lot in the movie about Edna, who has very different personality from Chopin and who, unfortunately, does not realize what kind of romance is more important (or so our main character claims).

If we look at the second half of this film, a lot of it is interesting and interesting, but I will leave it in my post to let you decide who gives such a strong reaction to this film and what kind of movie it is coming home with this.
