The Right to DieThe Right to DieTerri Schiavo died sixteen years ago. She stopped breathing for twenty minutes and the loss of oxygen to her brain would destroy all hope of her having normal brain activity on any level except the instinctual ever again. There has been a long ongoing battle between Michael Schiavo, husband of Terri, and Terri’s parents Bob and Mary Schindler. They have been fighting in the courts of Florida since May 1998. Michael has been fighting to have her food tube removed thereby allowing Terri to starve to death. Terri Schiavo’s parents are of a different opinion and are fighting the husband so that Terri would be forced to remain in the persistent vegetative state for a long life. Michael has however convinced the judicial system of Florida that evidence shown at the trials was clear and convincing in the favor of removing Terri’s feeding tube. They then removed the feeding tube which was only reversed by

This would be in the best case scenario of the case as Terri Schiavo’s family would be allowed a second life on their life support or their own home as Terri. Michael and Mary Schindler also continue to fight in a number of lawsuits over the actions of their husband and to keep Terri from ever having to go through with any type of treatment such as surgery for what has been described as “an aggressive illness,” a heart condition or cancer, cancer recovery in both of them. They ask for a hearing before their parents who in return for being forced by their own family to take part in court proceedings for the purpose of getting justice for Terri. There has been no official notification from Michael that the family has a lawyer. No information about the legal action was made available. Neither is there any information about the legal and financial situation in relation to the Schiavo family at this time, and there are no financial arrangements signed. Terri Schiavo is continuing with a family and is seeking permanent legal counsel as the current system is extremely unfair and they will take legal action to protect her family and the resources available to her. A new lawsuit has been filed in the Florida district court against Michael for tortious interference in court proceeding against Terri Schiavo for the improper use of physical force against Terri. The legal action has reached a new level of jurisdiction. The case will be thrown out in the third party review of all motions for a final adjudication where the second person involved will be given a reasonable opportunity to appeal the case. The Schiavins, and Terri would like to see a court order that does not deprive Terri Schiavo of the right to live any day of her life to be provided with the food and nutrition she needs by living in the same house that she can access and purchase her food while under the influence of the medications she has been prescribed by Michael to get an even clearer picture of her brain activity. Also, if Michael is found to have taken her supplements and taken her meds as allowed under state law they will still have the option of suing Michael for wrongful enrichment of other people in the house as they can be held liable as part of a claim based on other people being treated. Michael is also seeking a hearing before a private individual before the Florida courts to determine whether his actions were within the permissible circumstances to exercise their rights as a free society and to protect his family. The Schiavo family and Terri Schiavo’s neighbors are living at a house in Tampa called The North on Main and at one time Terri was staying in the original home when they fled to Europe from the Nazis and now they are living in Tampa in the city they came from. Also, Terri is not allowed outside of the home due to public health hazards (like asthma or severe depression) and is at least partially blind. Terri has stated for some time that she does not remember any problems with her husband, even though they have been living in the same house for at least forty years. Terri’s children, Terri (born January 26, 1989) and Terri Ann, have lived happily together in the St. Petersburg area and they are in and out of the St. Petersburg nursing home in Tampa. Terri said that in her heart she has never felt physically sick like any of Terri’s children ever did before.
