Pollution alert at Melbourne beaches
Summary
Melbournes most popular bayside beaches were said to be rated poor due to the fierce storm on Christmas. However on Christmas the staffs were not working because of the public holidays as a result the forecast shows that they did predict a storm would come but didnt notice ferociousness of it. Swimming was not suggested from the pollutants such as rubbish, debris and more, that flows from drain pipe and local water ways to the bay. The sea water also contains bacteria that can give you the flu, respiratory illness, eye infections and ear-nose-throat infections. After 24 to 48 hours of fine weather and sunlight, the water quality will improve.

The ferocious storm end up causing floods in some areas that submerged cars and roads.

Since the water quality was poor they told beachgoers should avoid swimming near stormwater drain outflows or the mouths of tributaries after a large storm.

People who go to the beach must check the water and pay attention to the discoloration or murky sections and theyre best avoided.
The polluted water was only temperary and that it should be given fine weather and sunlight and the water will improve and returned back to normal.
What is you opinion on the article.
My opinion on the issues in the articles is that the staffs doing the forecasts should double check on the forecasts for changes and ought to prepare for whats coming next as a precaution so it wont happen the second time.
