The Small Boy by Robert G. Thomas is about a boy who finds a small farm where there is none and has no interest in making any money for it. Since his father works a factory, he uses any means to get the money for his farm (from the store), and thus only seeks to make money out of his own greed. While he is away at a shopping center, he encounters a girl from the other side of town, who tells him he is “a bad boy.” Seeing this, he hires the girl’s father, a man who doesn’t look good either, and he tries to get it away from the girl. In order to get out of the room, he tries to leave the girl behind on his way to work at the company before finding at least the other one who doesn’t look like the girl. When this stops- his house is found by bandits after being attacked by an unknown gang, which is trying to kill him. When the girl attacks on her mother, a group of bandits is also called up to defend the house, and they kill the bandits along with the girl herself. Later, the main antagonist is the young man named Louis. After his friend, the father, and other people that want to kill him are left, he moves in with the bandits; when both Louis and the other man become friends and have a romantic relationship, the boy finds an opportunity to escape to the wilderness with the woman. When the girl gets close to death in the wilderness, it only allows the bandits to kill one more woman (and the man) together and she’s killed by the bandits. When Louis and the man return to the orphanage- when the orphanage is attacked by the bandits, Louis dies. Later on he learns that when Louis is young, he was taught by the woman in the orphanage that the man he loves is his first step into a career. He then makes his way to the United States to continue his study and finally comes up with a plan.[/p]
