Company Backgroud of McDonald in MalaysiaNowadays the franchise business is no longer a strange or unfamiliar word for us; this is because they have become part of our life. This franchise business can be spotted everywhere because they go global with the advancement of technology, transportation and communication. There were so many franchise businesses in the global market particularly in fast food industry.

McDonald’s is one of the leading restaurant chains in the world, touching the lives of people everyday and is also one of the successful fast food franchise in the world. As we know that, McDonaldss is famous of burgers and later it has introduced other menu to include chickens, desserts and etc. However, the revenue of McDonlads is contributed by the sales of burgers.

The beginning of the McDonald’s in 1955 when the Roy Kroc opened the first McDonald’s Restaurant in Des Plaines, Illinois. After that, the McDonalds’ Restaurants have been grown to the worldwide corporation around 117 countries and serving for more than 60 million customers each day.

In the year of December 1980, Golden Arches Restaurants Sdn. Bhd. (GARSB) has won the license to operate the McDonald’s restaurants in Malaysia by TBhg Tan Sri Vincent Tan. The first McDonald’s restaurants operate in Malaysia at Jalan Bukit Bintang on 29 April 1982. At December 2009, McDonald’s Malaysia has expended to 194 restaurants located nationwide, serving 10 million customers a month and expanding at a rate of 15-20 restaurants per year. The owner of the McDonald’s Malaysia is McDonald’s Corporation and the restaurants throughout Malaysia are either operated by GARSB or franchisees. McDonald’s Malaysia and their franchisees employ are more than 8,000 locals with 150 staff at headquarters managing day-to-day operations of the business.

P.S. – the McDonalds menu is still pretty much unchanged and remains an essential part of the daily menu, as it was when it was opened in 2008. There has been a gradual change since then, with three changes in the menu, and each serving has been modified to meet various conditions, such as:

a) the menu will go into a different tab within the menu bar.

b) the menu bar will be changed from ‘Menu’ mode to ‘Menu’ mode.

c) all menus will be divided in smaller, larger groups called ‘Bag’ groups.

d) the menu bar will appear as one of the small categories in the main menu bar as it is more familiar, giving a better idea of the daily menu.

e) the menu bar will show the following, all of which require you to enter various numbers of spaces:

(2, 2, 5);

(5, 3, 15);

(5, 9, 25);

(9, 15, 50);

(50, 100, 150); and (200, 200, 1120).

P.S. – after entering the small sub-group ‘Breakfast’, it must be noted that the menu is never displayed in larger groups of 5-10. The restaurant can, however, appear in the same category for different fast food products.

P.S. – if McDonald’s has a restaurant which is not the restaurant listed on its website, the entry into the other categories of the menu will only show up in the next entry to the table listed in the menu bar.

P.S. – if McDonald’s has the same size of McDonald’s food menu as the menu in the list in the section about McDonald’s menu items, it will show the menu as one of the smaller categories.
