There are many other leadership styles companies use today. For instance in this synopsis, Vonage, Starbucks, Google and Kmart also offer different styles of leadership that have helped them succeed and could help CrysTel avoid further problems with sales and moral. One of the major changes Vonage underwent when facing issues is that the change made was at the top with a new CEO in place. Due to the poor relationship employees had with their former CEO, a new CEO seemed pertinent and helped to move Vonage into a competitive position in 2006. Further, Starbucks leadership style is more of a servant-leadership style where it believes that the behind the scenes people it does business with, like the farmers, are just as important as the employees selling the coffee. CrysTel can look to Starbucks to understand the importance of quality relationships with all entities of a business – without a good core relationship with all business partners a company will not succeed. Google uses a reward system to keep their employees satisfied and avoid employee turnaround. Everything from free lunches by corporate chefs to annual bonuses allows for continued contentment from Googles employees and helps to keep success on track for the search engine giant. One of the additional effective ways that companies ensure leadership is top-notch is through training programs. Kmart delivered a new training seminar to upcoming managers to ensure that they received the most knowledge on how to work with employees prior to running a department or entire store. Each of these companies has a different way of addressing change and leadership styles in their respective businesses and each company recognizes that keeping an eye on employee moral and satisfaction will help to keep poor performance in check.
