What we were trying to do and why.Background Information: Global climate change has been impacted by the greenhouse effect. This is when the Earth’s atmosphere traps greenhouse gasses, which is important for the survival of Earth. This may also be deadly if too much of the greenhouse gasses are emitted into the air, causing high and deadly temperatures. Goal:Our goal is to prove that global climate change exists and is happening right now. Guiding Question:We need to determine how knowledge of the greenhouse effect on atmospheric temperature provides evidence that global climate change is occurring.What we did during our investigation and why we chose to conduct our investigation this way. Method:We decided to conduct our experiment in order to prove our reasoning is true, and these were the steps we had taken. First, we filled three beakers with one hundred milliliters of soil and fifty milliliters of sand to replicate Earth’s surface. Secondly, we labeled the beakers according to how much water (which had replicated the greenhouse gasses) we put in each beaker. We labeled beaker number one (too much), beaker number two (just right), and beaker number three (too little). Thirdly, we sprayed beaker number one, twenty five times with water, beaker number two, five times, and beaker number three, fifteen times. Then, we wrapped two layers of saran wrap (which replicates our atmosphere) around each beaker. Next, we put a thermometer in each beaker and put them under a light (which represents the sun) thirty centimeters above the beakers.
