To begin, these literary works both evoke different leadership abilities by their own choice of setting. Both of these novels are really common since they share the same genre, Lord of the flies is an adventure story and The Last of the Mohicans is an adventure novel but still show similarities that are found between both novels. For example, in Goldings Lord of the Flies this circumstance, its during World War II, where the boys plane shut down during the evacuation and crashed into a deserted tropical Island. On the other hand, in Coopers The Last of the Mohicans circumstance its several days from late July to mid-August 1757, during the French and Indian War, in the American wilderness frontier in what will become New York State. Whereas in Goldings Lord of the Flies, when the boys landed on the island Ralph took leadership and was acting leader of the boys on the island. As for Coopers The Last of the Mohicans the main character Hawkeye is seen with his Chingachgook ally and his son Uncas when they saw a deer appear in the distance which he wants to shoot the animal but he realizes that the noise of the rifle will draw the attention of the enemy instead Uncas uses an arrow to kill the deer at his place. Because Hawkeye couldnt shoot the deer Uncas took total responsibilities to kill the deer instead of him. Although, both novels are quite similar they both show leadership abilities in their own choice of setting. Its obvious that both characters kind of share the same leadership abilities. In the two novels, the readers clearly sees that Ralph and Hawkeye are quite leaders in their own way at the beginning of the setting because they both show leadership abilities.
