Recruitment and Selection StrategiesErica R CashenHuman Capital ManagementHRM/531Wendell BerglandFebruary 10, 2016MemorandumTo:                Traci GoldmanFrom:                Erica CashenDate:                February 10, 2016Subject:                Landslide Limousine Recruitment and Selection StrategiesGood morning Mrs. Goldman,Our client, Landslide Limousine is planning to start a limousine service in the Austin, Texas area.  Landslide Limousines will need to ensure that any information deemed pertinent to the development of their recruiting and selection strategies is made available.  Landslide has an organizational goal to be the best possible limousine service in the greater Austin area, this will mean that Mr. Stonefield will want to ensure he is recruiting and also selecting the best possible candidates for the job.Analysis of Projected Workforce NeedsThe biggest part of Landslide Limousine will be their drivers, and because the drivers will be the biggest part, they will also have the ability to make Landslide successful or to make them go under.  This is because Landslide’s Limousine drivers will be the employees that will interact with the customers, which has the potential to bring customers back, recommend the service to their friends, or make the customer not want to come back.  In addition to the front line employees, effective managers will be important with the maintaining order and discipline and also to keep track of the schedules for drivers and cars for Landslide.  Another important task for Landslide employees will be that they help to keep the customer information database up to date with likes and dislikes of the customer in order to “go the extra mile” in knowing what the customer wants and likes.Over the next thirty years changes in demographics are projected to change dramatically.  By the year 2040, Texas is expected to have increased by seventy one point five percent (Combs, n.d.).  This projected increase in the population will enable Landslide to be able to choose from a larger pool of employment applicants.  What this means for Landslide is that there will be different skillsets and levels available to choose from as time passes.  This also will open up the client pool to Landslide Limousines.  A good way to gauge this growth and when it is time to hire more employee drivers would be that every time Landslide is able to gain seven new repeat clients, they should hire another driver.
