Landslide Limo’s Recruitment and Selection Strategy Plan
Recruitment and Selection Strategy Mark SanschargrinHRM/53111 October, 2013Dianne NelsonLandslide Limo’s Recruitment and Selection Strategy Plan Landslide Limos recruitment and selection strategy plan is based upon the company’s organizational goal of providing first class transportation.  This recommendation also considers the forecasted demographic changes for the metropolitan Austin, Texas area.  This plan is based upon the framework illustrated by an integrated model recruitment process which utilizes several person, environment, and contextual considerations.  Staffing        Landslide plans to employ 25 employees the first year.  Landslide is expected to have a   $-50,000 net loss the first year with a 5% expected gain the first year.  Bradley expects turnover to be at 10% the first year.  We recommend the following positions be staffed the first year to provide the minimum staffing requirements:  two HR personnel, four customer service representatives; and the remaining 19 employees will be chauffeurs.  Because Landslide is concerned about costs and the negative first year income, I recommend that Bradley Stonefield provide the functions of HR, Operations, and hiring manager the first year.  Landslide will need to replace the 2.5 employees during the course of the year due to 10% turnover.  Recruiting ads, therefore, will need to be refreshed and top resumes should be regularly updated to allow for quick replacements of employees due to the turnover.

The second and succeeding years, we recommend the first year business be analyzed for growth.  I would expect with the 5% expected growth in years two through five would also warrant the requirement for one or two qualified managers be employed to fill the role of manager and assistant manager.   Year three through five, I recommend that one additional HR employee be hired and I recommend as the business grows enough to justify increases in chauffeurs, new chauffeurs be added as additional vehicles are added to the Landslide fleet and the customer base grows.   Demographics and DiversityDemographics        The target clientele for Landslide will be from the Metropolitan Austin area.  The “Austintexas.gov Planning And Development Review Department” (n.d.) provides the most current demographic statistics available for the Austin metropolitan area and indicates a steady increase of population as provided in the chart below from a little of 800,000 inhabitants in 1990 to over 1.7 million in 2010.  [pic 1]According to Austintexas.gov demographic website, the Austin area population is composed of multiple races.  The majority of the population is composed of the Caucasian race at 1.25 million of the 1.7 million total population, or just under 73%. (“Austintexas.gov Planning and Development Review Department”, n.d.). The Hispanic community population contain 531,000 people in the Austin metro population. (“Austintexas.gov Planning and Development Review Department”, n.d.).   African American Austin population is about 127,000 people. (“Austintexas.gov Planning and Development Review Department”, n.d.).  The Austin Asian population is composed of 82,000 people with all other races population not being a significant amount to factor into this plan.   (“Austintexas.gov Planning and Development Review Department”, n.d.).    The population has shown a steady increase in population and within each of the diverse peoples of the Austin area.  All age groups are also represented among the community.
