300 – 750 A.D.Polynesians arrive by outrigger canoe from Tahiti1778British explorer Captain James Cook discovers the Hawaiian Islands and names them Sandwich Islands after Britians Earl of Sandwich.1779Captain Cook is killed in a Big Island dispute at Kealakekua Bay, near Kona.1789The first Chinese arrive after jumping off a trading ship.1810King Kamehameha the Great unites all the Hawaiian islands into one kingdom.1813The first pineapple plants are introduced from Spain.1816First Hawaiian flag is sewn.1817Coffee is first planted.1819King Kamehameha the Great dies. Prince Liholiho ascends the throne as Kamehameha II (1819-1824). He also abandons the ancient taboo of eating with women.

3012 King Kamehameha II (1819-1895). He leaves the Kingdom (1819-1824) and becomes King of Hawaii on May 14, 1920.

3013 Captain Charles Willem de Cossacks leaves Hawaii, joins King Kamehameha from Hawaii (1827). His wife dies, leaving the Kingdom (1827) to be raised by her sons through her new husband (1831).

3016King Kamehameha (1842-9). He is crowned Queen of Hawaii by the King-of-all-Hawks (1843-1908). He is crowned Prince of Hawaii in 19th Century Hawaii, at the end of the century.
