I agree that televisions can be a big problem in some homes, but I also believe that television can be a helpful tool. Many children can learn from a kid TV shows quicker than they can in a class room or from their parents. TV is also one of the main forms of entertainment, especially for those who are disabled and cant go anywhere.
Learning videos and TV shows for kids are very useful. I know children that arent the quickest at learning new things, but can pick up quite a bit from the television and remember it. TV is good for children who are visual learners, and it also helps out the parents by demonstrating matters that they can barely get into the childs head by themselves.
Television is the main entertainment for people like me. When I get home from working and running around, I want to relax. The way I prefer to do so is to watch TV. I wouldnt want to listen to music because I do that all day while Im working, and listening to the radio gets on my nerves eventually because I cant see whats going on. Also, if Ive had a stressful day, I can find a comedy on TV to relieve that stress
People with movement disabilities and old people that have trouble going places, like my grandmother, need TV to entertain them because they cant always get up and go to a football game whenever they feel like it. Television is where my grandmother gets all her information from.
Another reason why its good to have television is because there will always be important news on, and it can be dangerous if you dont know whats currently happening in the world around you.
Television is important. To solve the problems with youths being idle, gaining weight, and not taking responsibilities, I think the cable servers should provide a service where your television can only display channels during your choice of a specific range of time. This will keep the importance of television in the home, and this should satisfy those who disagree with my opinion.
