Very early in my adult life I discovered my passion for business and economics. It was this keen interest in the inner workings of the financial sector and the complexities of the economy that influenced my decision to obtain a degree in economics. As a result, in 2006, when I was afforded the opportunity to attend college in Minnesota to complete my undergrad degree, I took full advantage of it. Not only did this experience leave me a wealth of knowledge, but it has also made me more outgoing and sensitive to differences in individuals of diverse backgrounds, which is crucial for working in team settings. After graduating, I pursued employment at an institution where I could make practical use of this knowledge, and began employment with Fidelity bank as an ambassador. In this position, my duties were to handle customer complaints, be a liaison between the staff and the customers, open customer accounts, and answer any questions about products and services. Although I enjoyed working directly with the customers and learning as much about the commercial banking system as possible, there was a greater passion to seek employment in a field more tailored to the degree I had obtained. As a result, I sought employment at the Central Bank of the Bahamas, where I am currently employed as a Senior Statistical Assistant in the research department. I can not begin to describe the wealth of information that is available to inviduals in such an oganization as this. As it stands, my work purview entails the collection and organization of Balance of Payments data, as well as completing weekly analysis of the money, liquidity and credit within the banking system.
