Obesity is defined as a condition of being significantly overweight. If a persons weight is 20% or more above their ideal body weight, they are considered obese. Unusually, a person is overweight before they become obese whereas overweight is defined as a condition of weighing more than what is ideal for their height and body frame. If a persons weight is 20% or more above their ideal body weight, they are considered obese. Excess weight may come from muscle, bone, fat and/or body water. A person can be overweight without being obese.

It has scientifically been proven that the right combination of salt, sugar and fat is neurologically addictive, study after study has shown that the more you eat, the more you crave. It causes biological changes to the body, people grow extra fat cells, fat cells which never die, go on a diet and they may lay dormant(fat cells) but they never go away. Yes sugar is healthy but only when consumed in moderation, for example one double bacon cheese burger contains more fat than one should consume in a week.

At the present time, junk food is very popular around the world. Most of children like it because it is cheap, save time and delicious. However, eating junk food everyday is not good for health and leads to lack of concentrate

I have never been one concerned with my weight and more specifically the food I eat. This is probably because as an only child I have always got whatever it is I desired and what I desired was junk food. I grew up being told to do whatever it is that made me happy and to always be true to myself and well eating junk food was what I considered being true. When I look back now, I realize that I dug one deep hole that up to this day, am still trying to get out of.

I was about 8 years when I developed an eating disorder; I mainly ate out of boredom, maybe the fact that I was only child contributed to that. I loved junk so much I could have it for breakfast and I did.

Obesity tends to run in my family. Some people have a genetic tendency to gain weight more easily than others because they burn calories more slowly. During times when food was scarce, this was a real advantage. But now that food is available 24/7 in most industrialized countries, an efficient metabolism that once ensured our survival now works to our disadvantage.
