No one ever changes. You might believe that you have changed as a person, but the temptation and habits will forever be engraved into your mind. Deep down in the core of your being you will be the same person until your soul leaves the lifeless shell that will be your carcass. In Julius Caesar and Our Twisted Hero, some characters believed themselves to have changed while in the end it turned out they kept the same feelings the whole time.

In the novel Our Twisted Hero, multiple characters appeared changed while in reality it was a cover they were using to temporarily mask who they really were, whether they realized it or not. Han was a prodigy in school until he tragically had to move to a less pretentious school due to his father switching jobs. Han was secluded, teased, and bullied from the ravenous pack of elementary children until his motivation was completely demolished. Han believed he had truly changed for the worse and would have no future. After he was no longer being bullied, he became his old hardworking, ambitious self. Han had never really changed, he only led himself to believe it. Om the child who had bullied Han is also victim of this. Om was always the puppet master to the class of marionettes, until their original teacher was substituted for a new instructor for the rest of the year. Om was found out. He was humiliated in front of his whole army. They all turned their backs on Om. Om was rarely heard from, when he was heard of it was usually of feeble attempts to regain his title which ultimately failed. Although everybody thought Om was a better person for going through his downfall, Han witnessed a very rich and successful Om being escorted off of a subway train and into custody of the law. Om was thought to have learned his lesson, while he was just better at hiding who he was.
