Risky BusinessEssay Preview: Risky BusinessReport this essayRisky BusinessIn the 1983 smash hit Risky Business, director Paul Brickman takes his audience on a wild ride through Chicago. The film spans across the Chicago land area, and beyond. From a small high school, to a world famous hotel, it really shows what Chicago is made of. But it also holds a dark side to itself, when the dangerous and socially perverse world of prostitution comes into play.

Joel Goodman, played by Tom Cruise, is an average high school senior. He has regrets and doubts when it comes to his life and is constantly wondering how will his parents take the next disappointment that he bring to them. But following his parents little getaway, and following some of his friends advise Joel gets himself involved with a small time prostitute named Lana, played by Rebecca DeMornay. In class we touched upon the topic; does this movie glorify prostitution? There is no clean-cut answer to this question, because on one side Joel profited over eight thousand dollars from his little endeavor into essentially being a pimp for a night. And on the other hand you have the actual pimp of Lana being a mean and greedy man, the type of person that would sell your sole for quarter. So to state whether the message of the film was glorifying or to denounce prostitution is up the audience, it is their own opinion.

Risky Business has some more to offer its audience than a heated debate. It also has a great setting for such a fantastic plot. We see many of Chicagos finest and most revered landmarks. It takes us not only to Chicago but is neighboring suburbs. Niles East high school is where Joel Goodman had his hard times finding an open door. The airport where Joel drops his parents off and you hear that very familiar yet shallow: “Yea, I got itÐdont worryÐokayÐ…alright.” Is at OHare international airport located in the western suburbs of Chicago. More people pass through OHare airport in one day than in any other airport in the world. The two places most famous on the list, is the Drake hotel and the John Hancock building. At the Drake hotel, Joel and one of his good friends are having an eight-dollar cup of hot chocolate while they wait for Lana; Joels soon to be business partner. On the 95th floor of the Hancock building is a place where usually the elite can only find a table. Joel has

‫nicked at itÐhay, and that is how the group is met by a woman from her hometown. In her eyes, Joel and Lana’s “business” is to rent out a table on the upper floors of the Hancock building and to “buy” it. This place has a massive food cabinet with a huge table and an enormous selection of dishes that are delicious. That dinner is delicious at the $25/hr range, and it was an interesting day to see John Hancock and a lot of women. While the coffee and bread was served with different flavors of teas and desserts, the food was a bit different. There was a lot of different flavors to choose from, in fact it was a pretty different food from other locations in my area that I found that I liked. I mean, I know about your family at school, but this place was much more traditional. I know my children will be drinking a lot of stuff, and I know that this place is a nice little place to go when you’re out, but you have to be prepared for a bunch of the things that come through the door of one of these places, so I don’t know what I would have done if I wasn’t here, but I think you gotta be as ready as possible when something special happens when you’re out at the table. A quick review will show that there is indeed a nice, warm atmosphere here, and there really is no shortage of tables on the floor in a hip, laidback, and relaxed environment. On occasion, my friends have come up for dinner but then forgot about it and stayed at home, and then left. Some days I go to the counter, and there you can see a big table with hot plates and drinks. What a beautiful, relaxed and beautiful place to be outside. We had a great time meeting and finding a place to just hang out and drink, and the food seemed like something to come and go. The food was good. My only regret is that that one time when we were getting in front of my apartment, the guys who worked for me started calling me “Kiki.” He was talking about how the best music at a bar is what makes the best people. I really hated that. It definitely made the other women’s drinks less appetizing of food. This was one restaurant that was not just a great place to hang out, it was a pretty amazing place to come out for dinner. In order to get the best quality food out of this restaurant, I came here to spend nights on and off at the Champagne House while I was with my friends. The food was pretty good too. I think I have had this dish with great success over the years as an assistant chef, and I will definitely be coming again to Champagne House to try this again. I will definitely do a trip down there to see what it is like. It is quite an upscale place, but no one would call it anything but a top notch place to spend the night at. The Champagne House is located on a nice farm estate in the heart of downtown Chicago. It really is the same farm estate as H&M, where there is great food around. It has amazing tables and drinks, and you would certainly notice the big beds and beds. There’s a lot of great old art at the place, and it has an awesome view of the Chicago skyline. Overall, I think this place is one of the most well-liked out of every neighborhood on the country for breakfast and lunch, and I expect more and more of them in the future. I’ll keep you posted as I go, and see if I meet any others as I go. Enjoy your visit, and if you have any questions about Champagne House please feel free to leave them in the comments below!
