In Jean Baudrillard article “Operational Whitewash” it talks about how people in todays society want to view things as good not bad or pretty not ugly. Operational whitewash has somewhat of the same concept as totalitarianism. Totalitarianism is the concept that all evil should be wiped out so there will be a perfect world. Operational whitewash wants people to use technology to help us in our daily lives, but the job of technology is to get rid of negativity.

I agree with what Baudrillard is saying about how technology helps people in everyday life. Technology does not necessarily erase negativity in the world. In the chapter it says that “jogging and working on a computer mat be looked upon as drugs,” this may be true because you may get the pleasure, dream and feeling of the drugs. In todays society drugs are everywhere and the bad effects that they cause will always be there.

I do agree with what Baudrillard is saying when he talks about how people want to get rid of imperfections about themselves. People in todays society use cosmetic sugary on a regular basis to change their appearance because they dont think that they are pretty enough. They want to remodel their body to make it fit into what people in todays society think is the perfect image.
