A Java applet is a program written in Java TM programming language that can be included in a HTML page. A JavaTM is used the same way an image is included to a web page. When a Java technology enabled browser to see a page that contains an applets and then the applets code is then transferred to the system and executed by the Java Virtual Machine, which is on the browser. The URL that I have found that uses JavaTM is

I feel that the JavaTM applet enhances this website because it gives a website a bit more to look at as far as graphics and the ability to interact with the web page. One thing that I did notice with this JavaTM applet is that if you are having problems with connecting to the game you are taken to another web page that gives you Java options. This means you can change the Java setting because you may not be using the correct version to properly display the game.

One of the main differences between JavaScript™ and Java™ is that Java™ can stand on its own and JavaScript™ needs to be placed inside a HTML document in order to run. Java is a complicated language that is used to create standalone applications while JavaScript™ is text that is placed into the browser and it is read and performed by the browser. JavaScript™ is a text-based program that you write into a HTML document and it can be ran through the browser and make changes after it runs and then run it again until you get the desired result. JavaScript™ is also easy for anyone to manipulate and take advantage of because of the quick to use text-based code. With Java™, once it is compiled and then there are changes that need to be made, you can go back to the original text and change it, but then you must compile the program again because it runs independently of a HTML document.
